I know on this forum, Jack isn't a hugely popular character, and Scott's acting has never been critically acclaimed, but I really think Scott is doing great at playing grief-stricken Jack. It feels real and raw, I also think Glynis Barber is acting better than I've ever seen her before!

Scott Maslen is one of the few good things at the moment. He's normally pretty bad but has been good since NYD.

He can be quite wooden, but I'll admit he's pulled it out of the bag this week.

His acting has been OK this week. I haven't had a problem with it. In fact I'd say he was very good in his scene with Dot.

Maslen's been very good - surprisingly.

*Abbie Knowles, too, considering her age.

Edit: *Yes that's a serious comment! Can't say Matthew has impressed me that much

I don't think it's surprising at all, he was brilliant in The Bill

Matthew's acting has been so good, I wonder if they're considering keeping him on without Jack, Richard and Amy.

Got to agree, I haven't rated his acting much but when he was watching the video of Ronnie and he gasped OMG that was so sad

I wouldn't say brilliant exactly but I thought he did his best work as DS Phil Hunter on The Bill. Currently he's been very good on EastEnders as well.

He has been very good in the last few episodes.

Still hope he goes off to Ongar though .... and takes Max with him. Would be perfect if Max's two annoying daughters followed their father.

Most of the good material is always given to the Philth so when another male character actually receives something gritty to get their teeth into the actor usually delivers.

Exhibit A.

Scott Maslen this week.

Exhibit B

Danny-Boy Hatchard

What have they in common looks like both are heading for the exit doors. This is my one issue with SOC he vastly improve characterisation and writing then shows them the door go figure.

Definitely agree Scott been great since the death of R&R. Is he leaving though because there isn't really anything there for jack and he only come back for Ronnie.

He's always been hit and miss but he is playing a blinder in this storyline and I'm pleased Scott has been given a chance to showcase his acting skills.
