The last movie was a Chucky prequel so what is this one?

Is it going all meta, where the doll that plays the character of Chucky in the Child's Play movies appears on celebrity chat shows then starts killing people for real?

Was it?

In the last one I watched, he killed his ex and was after her daughter. That definitely wasn't a prequel.

The last one was surprisingly decent. In hindsight it deserved a bigger budget and theatrical release. This one looks interesting, though it would be nice if Chris Sarandon made a return to the franchise. Assuming he's still acting, of course!

Ive never seen any 'child's play' movies... But i have seen both 'chucky' films.

The problem is i was such a hyper sensitive pussy when i was a kid, but my bother was such a horror fan. Thats created this wierd skittish clash in my head.

So even though i enjoy horrors as an adult, there are some 80's/90's horrors i will never watch. The 'childs play' movies are on that list....

It really was good. On the one hand i agree, they do deserve a bigger budget and cinema release. On the other hand, doing it small it looks like they basically get left alone by the studio without any interference. Look at the supposed remake of the original, that's still stuck in development hell years after it was announced.

Curse Of Chucky was a great return to form that tied in nicely with the original Child's Play movies, it also disregarded the comedy films in between, this one sounds like it will continue in that vain which is good.

Looking forward to it, although I have still yet to see the last one (although I am aware of the post-credit scene). Only seen the original trilogy.

An idea of mine for Chucky involving all other victims of Chucky's coming back all team up to stop Chucky for good. Andy Barclay, Detective Mike Norris, Karen Barclay, Kyle, De Silva, Tyler, Jade, Jesse and Nica.

In Seed of Chucky he came back in In 2004, 5 years later his kids are 5 the year 2009. Not sure what year Curse of Chucky is read is set 25 years after the first Childs play.

A story I hope everyone enjoys A idea who brought Chucky back since didn't see it in Curse of Chucky. 5 years later 2014 Glen and Glenda now 10 years old. Glenda has all of Chucky's evil and has done a few kills, her mother Tiffany covers the kills up, keeps a eye on Glenda and Glen helps keep a watch on his sister. Glenda reads all about her father and wants him around. She research's on line on a book of voodoo the book Tiffany used to bring Chucky back.

Glenda has the knowledge how to bring her father back just needs his body, she one sees her mother talking to the ground where Chucky's chopped up body is buried. Digs up her father puts Chucky back together Glenda has a talent making and fixing dolls, even makes a mask to cover up her father's face. Glenda says the words that brings Chucky back to life, Tiffany walking with Glen she sees the lightning in the sky near her home, knowing what's happening she picks Glen up and run to her house. Runs living room to late to stop her daughter, shocked to see Chucky back, he says your still beautiful as ever and tells to Glen you sure have grown. Tiffany afraid Chucky's may still be angry at her for leaving him and fears he'll kill Glen for killing him.

Chucky sees the look on her face tells her he not gonna hurt or kill her and Glen. Just wants to get to know do some killing and get to know his kids. Chucky learns his daughter Glenda is evil as him and she done some killing he can't be more then proud that someone in the family has the killer in themself.
Tiffany doesn't trust Chucky lets him stay, while he stays Chucky and Glenda go on hunts killing people he's teaching her everything about killing, how to get away with it and not to get caught. Chucky and Glenda's kills are done in other parts of the city that way he teaches her never do killing around your neighborhood you get caught easily.

Tiffany sees Glenda becoming allot like her father and doesn't want her daughter in jail or dead, she makes a deal with Chucky I'll help track down everyone that escaped you, send you to your targets so you can have your revenge. A year later Chucky hasn't them harmed , Tiffany trusting Chucky again and still has her crazy killer love for him. While a year has passed Chucky first targets are the people in Curse of Chucky. All this will be flashbacks.

While Chucky kills off more of his targets off screen wind gets back to the reaming victims of Chucky they meet team up and go after Chucky, this time they are up against not only Chucky but Tiffany and Glenda as well. Tiffany keeps Glen stays away from the carnage sending off to stay with a friend. They all begin fighting Chucky, Tiffany and Glenda hurt here and there but still put one hell of a fight. A few more of Chucky's enemies are dead while the others are badly hurt close to death. Chucky and Tiffany's daughter hurt from the battle and is dying, Tiffany tells Chucky save her, Chucky says his special magic worlds puts his daughter soul into a doll. This be the first film where Chucky doesn't die and wins for once.

^^ Curse of Chucky is a direct sequel to the original Child's Play movies and it ignores Bride Of Chucky and Seed Of Chucky. They don't exist in that time line as Tiffany is still in her human form. It sounds like Cult Of Chucky is a direct sequel to Curse Of Chucky too so will also ignore BoC and SoC.

Doesn't really ignore that he still has his scars and Tiffany (In human form again like the end of Seed) is helping him again.

Yeah, 'Curse' didn't ignore any of the previous movies, it just took more of the tone of the first trilogy instead of Bride (which was actually a great movie) and Seed (which...wasn't ).

My favourite of them all is Child's Play 2, especially the finale in the doll factory. As far as horror sequels go it's got to be one of the best ever.
