ED: Ali Spencer

After little mention since her departure, it made me laugh last night when Kerry said that Ali wasn't exactly a barrel of laughs!

Hopefully Ali will return one of these days... to see Amelia if nothing else.

The Spencers - Ali, Sean, Amelia and Rachel - were miscast. The producer realised this and wrote three of them out, but forgot Amelia whose attempt at acting in last night's episode was very poor. Dan Spencer came into the show later and is a passable charactore (except when he is with Kerry-marn).

Dan's ex-wife, Amelia's mother, they also have a son called Sean who is Amelia's brother. She split with Dan and got together with a woman called Ruby and they moved into the village together. Dan moved there not long after. Sean joined the army. He got badly injured in a car accident and ended up in hospital away from Emmerdale. Ali spent a lot of time there and eventually moved there. Ruby stayed in the village and was killed in the helicopter crash in summer 2015. The Spencers were my favourite family and I was sorry when they were all split apart.

Amelia goes to visit her - she was there last month.

I liked Ali. I always respected the fact that she moved to the village, which was presumably very expensive for her, to give herself and her kids a better life.
