It was an irritating Scottish trend for a while. For example Crawford , Campbell Findlay etc. Terribly twee and thankfully less fashionable.

Everybody whose first name is Hayley has received it descended from the surname of Mary Hayley-Bell, John Mills wife's maiden name.

I read of a child with Dwyer as a first name. I do not approve, but it is not my problem. some of these kids will look as if they have a hyphenated surname, instead of first & last name.

I always thought it was an older country folk thing- to have surnames as forenames- but then that's Campbell or Wilson type surnames I guess, not 'new age' stuff like Keegan.
