I see that the BBC are coming under fire for their recent 'Real Housewives of ISIS' comedy sketch clip.

I thought it quite brave of the BBC to produce a comedy satire of ISIS and found it rather funny.

If someone could link the clip for me. that'd be great.

Offensive or not?

I thought it was a joke clip at first then realised it was something being shown on the BBC. Very brave of them to air this, considering what happened to Charlie Hebdo.

As for it being offensive, of course it is. To a certain demographic anyway...

Thanks for the link.

I had to double check it wasn't a fake BBC account, when it popped up on my Facebook. The bit with the chain made me laugh the most.

It seems the majority of comments on social media, from both Muslims and non-Muslims are in favour of the sketch. It shows that most Muslims are happy for ISIS and radicalism to be mocked.

It's a sketch from "Revolting" - new comedy series from the pair who did "The revolution will be televised". I've not seen it yet, but laughing at our enemies has long been a British tradition.

I found it quite funny, Islamic state and other extremists should be ridiculed far more than they are.

Very brave of them. Certain communities aren't known for their humour.

To barbaric Muslim extremists, the most offensive excuses for human life on the planet. Well deserved brilliant piss take.
Let's hope the BBC have adequate security.

That was very funny, especially the matching jackets bit, though I expect the ISIS feminists wing won't be amused.

Given it's only going to be offensive to IS supporters does this mean the Heil supports IS as they said it's offensive?

Given their record for sharing every IS execution with the world I think it's a reasonable conclusion

I found it rather funny, we take the mick out of everything. But we rarely touch ISIS with a barge pole for fear of retaliation. I feel the more we mock them, the more some of whom may be in danger of becoming radicalised will see how downright ridiculous they and "so called Islamic state" are. Doubtful in all honesty, but it's what we British do in desperate times. What was that song about Hitler only having one ball?

Has Twitter 'erupted' yet over the sketch?

Got to love it when the Mail do their hysteria inducing, great granny pearl clutching "edgy"
It could be that they loath the BBC, lack moral judgement and functioning brain cells and haven't a clue what arses they make of themselves using any opportunity to have a dig.

It's not offensive to Muslims and it's not intended to be. It's intended to offend ISIS, and I hope it does.

The least we can do before we kill them all is have a good laugh at them.

It's offensive to people who are offended on behalf of Muslims whom they think will be offended.

I think

I have, I've been beaten to it though.

There seems to be 3 camps of people who are not happy with this.

1 Those who are not happy that the bbc wasted "their money" on this sketch show.
2 Those middle aged white folk who are offended on behalf of Muslims.
3 The nutters who think the Muslim actresses are insulting Islam.

I'm a Muslim, and I found it pretty funny. I'm all for taking the p*ss out Daesh and the stupid bints who have the romantic notion of joining them.

Kind of - https://twitter.com/i/moments/817077310398599168

Not really sure what this "twitter moments" thing is but would tend to agree with what appears to be author at the top.

Actually, I was under the impression it's more non Muslims who are offended by it. The whole idea of trivialising Isis is not going down too well. Most of the quotes I read online were by fuming non Muslims.

Yes, in a nutshell.

Thought it was absolutely hilarious--all of it!

The one & only reason I've not shared it w/ friends & family is because I have deep-felt sympathy for women who still live in slavery, in our world, in 2017; I was somewhat ashamed of myself for laughing (if that makes sense).
