Another question then, Mark: why does anyone in America pay for medical insurance?

They wouldn't be seen

While you are being treated.....they come and check your insurance

Funnily enough we were talking about Obama Care in the office earlier this week as one of my colleagues returned for 10 years living in California at the end of 2015 and now works with us.

He was giving examples of costs in the US for those that don't have medical insurance and he said that just having a baby alone will cost about $80,000 in health care if you don't have medical insurance.

Say what you like about the NHS but at least we have it.

Why no mention of her taking equal responsibility with Kevin?
Another thought- neither appeared to give their daughters a share of their windfall, as you might expect loving parents to do”

Well Sophie did nick his money and gave it to a scam charity.

Maybe if she didn't do that Kevin would be having a better time paying her medical bills.

True and we tend to forget that when we travel abroad, perhaps no one should be allowed to go abroad unless they can show they have travel insurance.
I quake now when I think of all the travelling I have done without travel insurance, especially in the the US. When i was working in Switzerland I had to have some dental treatment - I nearly fainted when i was given a bill which was the equivalent of a months wages!

Well since Obamacare was passed you have to have insurance, but before that you can be denied care if you have no insurance except if you go to an emergency room where they must treat you no matter what.

You must admit Mark they're very polite and reasonable when they call. I would even go so far to describe them as impeccable.

Oh I've had some that were nasty, one woman told me I should know how my insurance works before going to the doctor. I cussed her out and hung up on her, since then I just block their numbers so every time they call my phone automatically hangs up on them

You cant escape by running for Britain. Those private practices can find legal ways of getting to her and Sophie and Rosie are far too stupid to avoid them

Also these things can escalate to bring down Kevins garage”

Not once she was back in the UK.

I knew he had a win but didn't know it was so big.

Now before I had the surgery I asked thej doctor how much it would cost and his response was don't worry about it you have insurance. So I haven't paid it, if you can't tell me the cost of something till after you provide the service or at least give an estimate its your fault I can't pay the bill. ”

I always assumed that if you didn't have the money up front, eg for surgery, then you wouldn't be treated.

Does Sally even know? She's not mentioned it to anyone or spoke to Kevin.

Sophie scammed £30,000 from Kevin, so his lottery win must be getting low now.
Sally should chip in, but why not do us all a favour and leave her in America?

Goes to show the lack of attention to detail when it comes to the show's continuity.

If its life threatening then you have to be treated even in a private hospital. When you are stable they would move you to a public hospital

Kevin must be doing well - US medical bills can run easily into tens of thousands just for s few days

You're talking Florida here. Nobody leaves the sunshine state without paying. Theyll squeeze you like an orange 'til there's not a drop left in you. Florida Doctors devised waterboarding for such an emergency of someone trying to skip town without settling their account. The Feds will have to send in an extraction team to get her out to deport her. Y'all come back now y'hear.
