Cliff Richard in Wuthering Heights

This must surely have been terrible?

It was called Heathcliff which is almost Patridgesque in its clunkiness. I've often wondered if the punning title is the only reason he wanted to do it.

His fans rave about it, but then they rave about everything he does so......

I don't think it gave Kate Bush any sleepless nights.

I don't see how it would have done anyway, as I'm pretty sure the score didn't include her song of the same name...

Might have Emily Bronte turn in her grave, mind.

(Anyway, why is this thread here to begin with?)

Yeah, I know. It's more a comment on her being the go-to default for WH related musicality.

I was always convinced the gushy and over-dramatic one time weather presenter, Siān Lloyd copied this for some of her "act."

Not really, Wuthering Heights was recorded in 1978, nearly thirty-nine years ago (can we believe that?) when Sian was 20. She didn't start weather presenting for ITV until 1990.

Coincidentally, they were both born in July 1958.
