Eastenders' Shirley seems to be on the bookshelf of background characters for a while, I think it's no harm to give the character a little rest, I'm sure Linda Henry will shine again soon...Shirl needs to be taken in a bit of a new direction....maybe some more comedy with Sharon, or a light-hearted plot.

That Two Bit Lush deserves nothing more than to die a lonely, friendless death in the gutter with no fanfare or ceremony. The gutter, the only home she's ever known.

The character is awful.

Hate it when Shirl is front and centre of a story line. The longer she stays background the longer I will ennjoy.

They need her to do something,anything all she does is hang around the vic pub ,get her a new man or a new best mate she was best when heather was alive

She's great, I love Shirl. She does need a good story soon though.

Well she got a new hair cut so maybe that's a sign of things to come. It suits her, she looks good atm.

It's great seeing her back in the Vic though. I wish she would team up with another character, maybe Kathy...they've had some good scenes together.

FM'S are impatient when a character is in the background for a while to give other characters a turn around major story lines.

I wondered if she had a bit of a facelift as well. She was gone for a while and I'm sure she has far fewer wrinkles than before, especially in the cheek/mouth area.

She looks softer, less severe imo.

I would love Shirl to get a decent storyline for herself, one that does not involve Phil or Buster; or her fighting with Sharon, Kathy or Glenda over said Phil or Buster. She needs to move on from all that crap.

I like Shirley I want to see more rather than less of her, it's good to see her back in the vic but she does need another storyline and a friend, Kathy seems to like a drink her and Shirl might be an unlikely friendship.
