What do think will happen too France if the next ruler is Marine Le Pen.

Chaos, rioting, fighting in the streets, massive government corruption, inefficient public services, huge levels of unemployment, declining infrastructure, dreadful standards of public hygiene, over-priced food, sour wine, surly waiters, polluted rivers, whinging sporting losers and very nice crusty bread.

Pretty much the same as it has been since the Romans left in 486AD, in other words.

Ruler is hardly appropriate seeing as its a semi-presidential demoracy they have.......

That said Ms La Pen has been a bit coy about what she would do with the EU other than have a referendum on the Euro and the borders. France like Britain will become more internationalist outside of the EU. Also Le Pen would also have a bombfire of workers rights seeing as she is just a bit past far right, yet not enough to be like her father.

Refugees would be deported pronto and in large numbers. She would close the borders with the rest of Europe, reinstate immigration controls too. She'll likely see an alliance with Britain and America, which really would upset the rest of Europe. She will probably increase the size of the military substantially to counter any percieved threat from the middle east. She will probably cease payments into the EU and repatriate laws to make their legislature soveriegn again.

All of that could be done without actually leaving the EU.

Lots of French people fleeing to the UK to live and work while free movement still exists.

Probably not as much as Brexiters hope. She would pull out of Schengen for sure, and probably also the euro, but that's about it.

Yes if I wanted to flee from a right-wing France the first placed to choose would be Brexit Britain.

Fillion is a hard line Thatcherite that wants big cuts, reductions in public sector jobs and an increase in pension ages. I expect more disruption and riots if he wins frankly.

Le Pen's economic policies are closer to Tony Benn's.

I don't see Le Pen winning anyway, But it all depends who runs and who makes the second round.

There are lots of combos at present for the final two including Macron a centrist independent and Melenchon for the Communists - even Le Pen vs the Communists cannot be ruled out if the centre left centre right vote gets split across several candidates in round one,

I can easily envisage 10s of French leaving France in protest.

However she wont win. Rival parties with rival ideologies will lend votes to each other to make sure she doesn't win - much like what happened when Farage stood in Thanet.

There's no way France would vote to leave the EU anyway. It's their project and they were one of the two main players who set up the EEC in 1958. The British on the other hand were late arrivals to the party fifteen years later and perhaps considered themselves outsiders from the start.

The French have had enough of the EU. EU Approval rating is at record lows in France. Worse than here.

In the insane world of UKIP and the far right across Europe, anything is possible alright, but France quitting the EU would be akin to the UK announcing it was leaving the Commonwealth.

That doesn't equate to them wanting to leave their own project and the institution that they set up. You can be very unhappy with how it is being run and think it is in need of urgent reform but actually choosing to abandon it and walk away would be the nuclear option (and would look terrible on them for wrecking it.....the EU can survive losing a country like the UK who wasn't even a founding member quite comfortably, but France or Germany walking away would probably be the end).
