I might be in the market for a cheapo phone, and noticed that the Nokia 3200 and 3220 are available pretty cheap on some offers that are around (pay and go). Anyone rate these phones?

I notice they both use one button for two, e.g. 1 button for both the 1 and 4 keys. I assume you have to "rock" upwards for 1 and downwards for 4, and this could be potientially rather fiddly. Anyone know how easy such system is to get used to? And is it ok for java games?

I had the Nokia 3200 for about 10 months until i dropped it and it stopped ringing.
Anyway, the buttons were really hard to get used to. I didn't really like the phone - not that there was anything wrong with it but i had upgraded from a 6100 which was really slim and small and found the 3200 to be bulky.

I was looking forward to upgrading and have ended up with a 6230 which has a really daft 5 way scroll thingie, and whenever you try to push the middle one it goes up or down. S'pose i'll get used to it!

Never used my 3200 for java games sorry.

I have had my 3200 for 18 months, it is a good phone. When it came out, it had everything minus Bluetooth and a video recorder. The only really bad point is that it has a 1MB memory. It has a lot of features, and is an excellent deal for £50.

I've had the Nokia 3220 for over 2 months now. It's a good phone, one of the best I've had I'd say. Overall good and bad:

+ Lights at the side of the phone are unusual and a good
novelty
+ Has camera and video, screensavers, wallpapers, themes
etc
+ Quite reliable. Has only crashed once when I was
applying a different theme, this was because I didn't have
enough free memory but when I made space available it
was fine
+ Good value for money. Was only 50 quid PAYG for me

- Memory is very limited. You only get a set amount to be
shared between the wallpapers, themes, images etc and
it's really not enough
- No Bluetooth or infrared so you'd have to purchase cable!

Overall I would give the phone about an 8/10
