Since one2one is now T-Mobile, will our screens update from one2one to T-Mobile?

Yes, in the spring - so sometime soon then.

Most phone's won't update as the name's are held on the sim card or phone memoary.

If you've a nokia where you can change the operator logo, no doubt T-Mobile will send you one free at some point.

I've seen phone's containing a Genie sim card displaying
UK Cellnet
BT Cellnet
and
Genie

So it proves some can get updated (by Sim / over the air) while others can't.

It seems a bit crappy that in these 'modern times' it's so much hassle to update something as simple as the name that's displayed on your mobile!

And i'm surprised the clock on your phone can't be sycronised daily.

another good point! the future (ie. now) is sooo disappointing. 1999/2001 etc. has gone and what happened to all that space stuff? i dont see families living in space, i dont even see big clunky robots doing household chores or anything!!

ok, so i'd settle for the clock updating thing, i hope they have this on 3G!

My Nokia 8210 has an "Auto Update of Time" feature,. but it does not work, i suppose its network dependent, ie they need to run a Time Server.

Don't count on it. I had a T-D1 phone here in Germany for years and eventhough they changed their name several time nothing has ever changed on German cellphones. Still the same providers are shown as they where 5 years ago:

T-D1, Telly D1 and Xtra D1 are still showns instead of T-Mobile.
D2 and Mannesmann are still shown instead of Vodafone.
Eplus stayed Eplus
Viag Loop and E2 are still shown eventhough it is now called Quam Mobile.

And besides T-Mobile is not the best provider here anyway. They are the former State-Phonecompany and still act that way when it comes to service. )

maybe you should have a one2one with the managing director of t-mobile and tell them what you think of this rebrand!

I think they had to change, every1 knows that one2one = crap network coverage so hopefully the re-brand with network investment will help shead that feeling about t-mobile

I'm on one2one and the network coverage is very good IMO..

Can always use my phone where BT Celnet phones drop out!

My screen updated yesterday. I now have T-Mobile on my screen and not one2one.

Mine has prob been done cause I have a good phone - Ericsson T39 - while all you poor sheep who all own poor Nokias prob still have one2one.

It did say on the one2one website a couple of weeks ago that mobile phone screens would be updated to show T-mobile instead of one2one. Mine hasn't yet though - its a Samsung A300.

It will be annoying if the screen doesn't change as I've only had the phone for two weeks. The first I knew of the name change was when I saw the TV advert on the very day I got the new phone.

One2One or T-Mobile has ace coverage now, they been investing 2 Million ££ a day in Network Coverage & Performance.. for like the last year. My dad works ALL over the country , one day in London, next day in Edinburugh, all over, and he has a One2One for personal use, and a BT Cellnet as his company phone from work, and some places he cannot use One2One, some places he cannot use BT Cellnet, so coverage is very patchy with all networks, they all have black spots. Interestingly he has more problems with BT Cellnet coverage than One2One now, although he did say 1 year ago, it would have been the other way around. I live in a Orange black spot, cannot use it, yet i get full bars with One2One . Maybe they should all share there transmitters, giving 99.9% UK Population Coverage.

In populated area's i can see why they won't share transmitters (capacity probs) but in the more patchy rural area's they should share transmitters - it would benifit all the networks.

BT Cellnet or O2 or whatever is going to share 3G transmitters with T-Mobile to reduce costs in upgrading all their masts.

I wonder how many subscribers O2 will loose now they are sponsering the most hated team in the country. If all Spurs fans own a Cellnet mobile thats about 1,000,000 lost subscribers.

I phoned T-Mobile today about the screen updating-was told it would but it could take upto 14 days. The guy I spoke to said it has nothing to do with the phones sim card and would definately update. He said he had switched his phone on and off and his had changed.

Do you think you need to leave the phone on over night for the update? Maybe I will tonight anyway.

T-Mobile are very good on customer service and I've got no complaints so far-at least you can easily speak to somebody unlike certain other networks.

Check out their new tariff Freetime 750 here One of the best I've seen & I've swapped.

I'll be porting one of my voda contracts to o2, i think they got one of the best tarrifs right now £35pm 250min all networks 15p all day after. There gonna label it promotional even though its gonna be around as a standard tarrif so orange can't OVP it
