I've just tried an automatic rescan on my Freeview box, E4 has not shown up yet on channel 14 but E4+1 is now listed on channel 39 although no picture yet just a black screen. Channel 705 is now also showing up but it has yet to be named.

I've just done a rescan too, and I don't have E4+1, or 705 yet.
It's maybe being added to different transmitters at different times. If it's true that 705 will be the BB interactive feed, I'm happy!

For anyone who's desperately re-scanning their Freeview box at the moment...
Some boxes will not display channels that are not broadcasting any video... as a result, they may not pick up channels 39 (E4+1) or 705 (the extra video feed), so don't panic! Some boxes will also ignore pay-TV channels... as E4 is still on Top Up TV, the best thing to do is to re-scan after 6am on Friday... by then, E4 will be a free channel, E4+1 should have started broadcasting, and 705 will probably be broadcasting (even if it's only a blank screen!) Hope this helps, Bozz |

Unless you're a footie fan, I can't see the point of Sky. And there's plenty of foreign carriers that carry footie and films. With E4 gone to freeview there is no longer any compelling reason for anyone with a decent terrestrial digital signal to get Sky. |

( You cant watch news 24 all day and be entertained! ) Sky One - You have all the great shows like Battlestar Galactica, Simpsons, etc. And then youve got your other stations full of great comedy, shows like Reno911 on that FX channel. And yeah ok the movies have been out for ages in my local video store, but they cost a fortune to rent out for a weekend, and im saving money watching them on sky ![]() Plus you get all the great discovery and history channels which usually alway shave something interesting on about the war or UFOs or model aircraft - things im interested in. Ok the best show is on E4 which is now going free, but thats only on for a few months of the year ![]() Plus i can never get a picture on freeview, any time something moves outside it would freeze, go green and make funny noises for half an hour

Sky is nasty and trashy! You're welcome to it. All the best programmes are on Itv, BBC, and C4.
Discovery is I think available from Top Up TV, for about 7 or 8 pounds/month. |

Well I hope that channel 705 is for BB Live streaming because I got PC Freeview yesterday, it has a remote but with no red button! So hopes up for 705 being 24/7 streaming...
It's going to be great browsing on here and watching the Live feed on my PC at the same time

Well I'm stuck with NTL (E4 & E4+1) and no interactive red button
I'm just wondering if it's worth buying one of the Freeview boxes someone mentioned here for about £45. Any suggestions on what to buy? The main reason of course is that my hubby and I argue every year as he hates BB and I want peace to watch it when I want. I have a question for any techies. I've got an old Philips On Digital box upstairs and use it sometimes to watch ITV2. I've never really tried to tune into anything else as I think you had to subscribe and this is no longer available. Is this like freeview and if I do a scan will I get any of these channels? Sorry for being such a thicko.

Thing is I live in a block of flats with no outside ariel (the reason I got Sky for the living room in the first place!) Will it work, I have an ariel amplifier but don't know if that would work.

I sympathise with you and glad I'm not alone in the moaning husbands department. As for your question, and mine, let's hope one of the techies can advise as we need a telly to ourselves.
