Stupid sales calls

Just had ANOTHER call, this time it was a recorded message blah blah blah so i hung up. it came from +5012. I am just off the phone to o2 who originally said we WOULD NEVER pass your details onto other companies. Puts me on hold after I dont believe that, the guy speaks to a senior supervisor and comes back and says "your details are put onto a database and we have no control over that". I explicitedly said when I joined I did not want o2 passing my details passed to ANY 3rd party companies, obviously that has been stuck to. I will no be cancelling my o2 contract and having to change my number because of this.

What company does not have control over whose details are passed from a database? I said under no circumstances did I want my number or any other info passed to other companies. I am so p*ssed off

Look at your situation. Then you'll find that you've answered your question already.

Regester with Telephone Preference Service (TPS) on http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/ and that will stop these calls.

Are you sure it was o2? Any company or person you pass your number to could have forwarded it on!

i am registered with the TPS. it hasnt stopped the calls though.

joea1, i dint believe i have answered the question. because I do not believe for one minute that o2 do not have any control over whose details they pass onto 3rd party companies, I told them I did not want my details passed on. they agreed about this but have obviously passed them on regardless. surely they are in breach of sort of contract since i requested this.

if i didnt pay my bill and keep up with my part of the contract it sure as h*ll would not just simply come to sorry i have no control over it like they have said to me

I seriously doubt O2 have passed out any details, more likely that some dodgy firm is just going through a range of numbers it knows have been issued to O2.
