I'm really made up for you, I also happen to think it's mildly entertaining but unfortunately not what the general public want to hear. I still think Steve has a great voice and if he brought out an album of soul classsics I would be one of the first to buy it because in my opinion that is what he is best at , and that is what I appreciate about him and any other artist.
To bring out original material it needs to be killer stuff, good new material is fe and far between unfortunately.

really?
Have you done a poll of the 'General Public'?
Or could it just be people falling for what fads label 'cool,' and political correctness?
People who are free choose what they like without being dictated to by opinion of others.

Tonight, I saw the advert for Steve's album during X Factor Extra, or whatever it is called. It was looking good and I must say it is much better than the one for the first album that BMG put together.
I liked the irony of the situation. They avoid mentioning Steve at all costs - I have even heard it isn't allowed that his name be mentioned - and then his album advert comes up in the middle of the programme.
Anyway, my copy finally arrived today - it is great!

I saw that too Liz. I wasn't paying attention to the TV and then I heard the voice, no mistaking it. My head did a 90* turn lol. He was sounding good. I also thought about the irony of his album being advertised n the middle of that show.

Hi Zip and Susan, I still come hear all the time and have been posting in a few of the threads. I'll be posting more often now that the live shows are starting.

Although this place will never be quite the same as it was at its height 2 years ago. I have so many great memories of that time. Sometimes I had tears in my eyes from all the laughs we had.

Awww that seems like an age away!!! It hasn't been the same since They were good times with Karen, Sal, Kim, Susan, Liz etc. I will never forget it!!! I also saw Steve's advert and was overcome with surprise! I totally wasn't expecting it, and to say the album was available from asda was a bonus as I was unable to get the single!!! Good luck Steve, I wish you the best of luck and hello to all my forum buddies past and present, I will never forget you

I have seen the ad for Steve's album a few times now Many still haven't seen it yet though. I managed to tape it

*Quick edit* The advert is also on the website now, for those Steve fans who may keep missing it.

Steve fans may be interested to know that Steve's album sold 1,301 copies last week and 894 copies this week.

Toot Toot on the Soos thread? Zip you need to explain, you have lost me now

Enjoyed the Cambridge venue last night Will post up a review later or tomorrow.

Loads buying Steve's album there. I know fans have done at Steve's other venues also. Love to know if anyone knows if this goes towards the charts or not if bought at venues?

Oh aye, that was great, but I just came in on the end of that, as I had just joined. It was hysterical at times. It's where we met Sal.

It was in the old Pop Idol forum here. The Soos (Susanne manning) thread was a bit like our Steve thread.....it was the biggest appreciation thread there and it was great fun.

I doubt if the record sales from venues would go towards chart sales as I think it's all computerised now. Glad you loved the gig.

Copy of extract from Music Week Report just issued.

Finally, apologies for suggesting last week that Steve Brookstein’s second album had fallen short of the Top 200. It actually debuted at number 165 on sales of 1,301, though it drops out this week with sales of 894 - 145 fewer than Shakira’s Laundry Service, which currently holds 200th place.
