why don't albums count for the charts when they're bought from gigs?
I knew that ones bought from some other outlets don't either...or downloaded from certain places, or if you buy 2, for example, like one for you, and one for a present, they only count it as one.
Seems wrong somehow, and not giving the true number.

I agree with all you've posted Smudge82.

I go to quite a few concerts and the Artiste usually has a stand selling cd's dvd's etc.

Cant see why these sales dont count.

I saw Johnny Mathis at Wembley and the MEN Manchester last month, and the sales of albums were huge.

Never understood that to be honest.. people often buy
for a friend and as you say multi buys count as one

I always make sure they go through as a single sale but not everyone knows how it works.

wow that's great, at this rate he will have sold as many as Rowetta's album by Christamas

Seriously though, did you know Noah Jones took 3 years to sell her first 100,000 records?

As long as it is a good album, which it is, it will find new fans all the time. I've already recommended it to 3 friends who love it. As Steve says some albums get released, some escape. People will continue to find it

Just posting my review of Steve's Cambridge part of his tour

I know this is a bit late. But here is my review of the Cambridge part of the tour Steve and Eileen did for us fans

When I got to my seat. I saw a face I recognised, it was Annette, she came over and we got chatting. Annette had come to the venue with her daughter who loves Steve to bits just as much as many of us Steve fans do

Eileen came on stage first, her voice is totally amazing. She has a great band. Not only is she an amazing Jazz singer, who lacks the recognition as yet that she deserves, but she is an accomplished musician on the piano and flute. The love for her husbands music and songwriting skills shine through whenever she mentions Steve and she tends to play down her part in making the tour as much a success as Steve has. I loved the songs, all of them, but especially loved the third Eileen sang, can't remember what it was called now I think it was a cover song though. And Eileen absolutely nailed 'That Old Balck Magic', as the feroious clapping of the audience that evening bared testament to.

Now on to Steve, the man himself Absolutley amazing, no words can describe the evening really. His band were spot on, every single one of them and I love Livvy's rapport and ermmmm dancing with Steve to be seen to be believed. And excuse me if I have the song title wrong, but absolutely adored 'You got, you got, you got......' song

The whole evening was electric, and Steve had the audience in the palm of his hands. When on that stage he owned it. He joked that husbands were dragged along for the ride, but no way. The husbands all seemed to be having as an amazing evening as their wives were. Don't believe all the Steve's fans are all a certain age or sex. There were many of all ages and both sexes and they all seemed to be enjoying the evening immensely. Steve had the audience up and singing at one point and dancing You are caught up in the Steveness and the mood and the moment and can't help yourself. The mark of a true artist to be able to encapture the audience that way

I had read the reviews on the OS and thought I knew what to expect. But nothing in all honesty prepares you for the amazing evening you will be subject to. No amount of words can do the tour the justice it deserves. The only way you will see what a spectacular time you are in for is to book up and go see for yourselves. It is well worth the money paid and I would gladly pay double that for such a glorious evening. You are left wanting more, more, more. I know I was anyway. Yep Steve is a hunger to his fans, that needs feeding.

The venue although not packed was close to being so, and the crowd were very appreciative of two class artists of Steve and Eileen's calibre and the amazing bands they have supporting them.

It will be well worth that wait Trix I wish I could make another venue from this tour, but I can't I will have to wait until some more venues are sorted for Steve's fans, probably be next year now But when there is one nearer to where I live, I shall be there

My friend just went to buy his Mum tickets for Steve's Newcastle show and asked for the best available.

He was told

'We've got availability on all Rows and have 5 seats left in Row 1'

Oh dear...poor bugger

What's poor about that Steve's concerts are selling well enough. The Cambridge one I was at was almost full capacity Different venues will sell better than others, as is the ways of all artists.

Being a first tour, this is a good way to gauge the best areas to have a tour cover, due to different popularity in different areas

Your friends mum should really enjoy the evening. It is well worth it and at least she will have the best possible seats now, lucky her

The thing is, what some don't seem to be appreciating, this has been a nationwide tour at many different places/cities/towns.

Not just one or two large gigs, expecting people to travel for miles.

It would be more interesting to add up the total number of tickets sold at all the venues over Sept/Oct/Nov.

That would be a good idea if it could be done

hi lizzey i wonder how steve is getting on at skegness cant wait to hear i got a googly today saying he is turning the christmas lights on with that group from iceland (nylon) some thing about heart fm and them being on stage let you know more when i find out

Thanks Susann, I was dreading the backlash.

I just thought someone may benefit from it, seeing as it wasn't an 'individual code' that email subscribers only could use, so no point in just binning the email without letting others know.

I'm half tempted to book tickets for my mum & I (she's never watched X Factor so doesn't know who he is) but we both need de-stressing at the mo & this could be it, at least it doesn't fund [against my principles ] the Simon Cowell fund.

Steve is amazing live, as is Eileen. You would both be in for a great evening if you went Apart from the X Factor tour and the acoustics in that building and the backing for all the acts were a bit rubbish then, I had only ever heard Steve on TV or his records. Seeing him singing live and getting the audience participation makes for such a great evening, I would recommend it to anyone

I want to go again, but there are no venues close to me I will have to wait until Steve does a venue closer to where I live.
