I think ITV is paying people to log-on, trash the show and mark the episodes down. Sour grapes or what?

No, try to understand what I wrote - it is perfectly possible to INTERPRET the dialogue in the show in at least two ways.

Maybe I'm too innocent to be watching this programme, but I'm sure that Nancy meant something along the lines of "People might think you've got your extra portions because your wife is 'dancing' with the butcher, but we both know it's because you've been scheming with / stealing from him all along."

There's plenty of innuendo surrounding Jack, and if anyone has issues with that they should express it. I believe this particular scene is an example of people getting into a mind set and seeing things that aren't there, or making huge leaps of the imagination.

Similar to Bad Wolf. The big nose/ears I can understand (and maybe I'm surprised people haven't spotted the innuendo there ) but the draughty Tardis door equating to huff and puff seems ridiculous to me (no offence meant).

On a lighter note, the leg growing back was classic, as was last week's "Finally, a professional". And I agree with others who have said that the first part of this episode was actually scarier than last week's.

When I voted, the top mark was labelled "Brilliant", but it later changed to "Fantastic". Was I slipping between time lines, or did someone make a boo boo?

Wow! Really? Surely then, the 'poor' votes would be disproportionate. Up to now the bottom 3 have tended to end up totalling about 10%.

It's possible that there might be some individuals ("itv-rocks" would be my prime suspect!) doing it but surely not a concerted campaign?

Whether or not you agree with the references or indeed with sex between unmarried adults or indeed any of the other alleged sexual content in the show can we at least use terms correctly?

Innuendo is an IMPLIED statement...a HIDDEN meaning...something that in itself is NOT explicit but ALLUDES to something else.

Personally speaking, I would rather my 7 year old nephew asked me why two men seemed to be kissing than why one man was bashing the other's skull in just because he was holding hands with his friend in public. I'm gay so obviously I would prefer a more open world where I could live and enjoy the same amount of freedom as heterosexuals and it is getting there slowly...when my nephew is an adult, it will have significantly improved on the way it is now for men like myself and to have such improvements assisted on their way in an atmosphere of fun, excitement, good humour and affection such as pervaded "The Doctor Dances" is for me a major strength of the episode but how interesting that in 45 minutes of ripping good science fiction (imho) all that is dwelt on is sex here...is it simply a British fixation?

Now, talk to me about the dazzling combination of new technology in a 1941 setting, the stunning one-liners and timing of the performances of CE, BP and even JB as the new boy which can't have been easy, talk to me about the frights of realising the typewriter was working itself or the suspense of knowing the soldier was to transofmr while Nancy was handcuffed to the desk...talk to me about the brilliance of CE's performance in the finale as he almost willed everyone to be alright "just this once"...talk to me about them for a while otherwise it's doing a trememndous disservice to the writer, the actors, the effects team and the series as a whole.

I'm quite understanding, but lets face it there were so many references they cant all be brushed away.

But you make one really valid point, in stating understand what you wrote, which has been my point for many posts. However some people think that i'm a victorian. I'm simply stating collectively these are not a mis-interpreted issue. This is a clear issue that the writer is trying to address.

Couldn't agree more - fantastic episode. And for the first time, really made me think how much I'll miss CE when he goes after just one series (I'm assuming that's not a spoiler).

By the way - why was the typewriter typing by itself? I didn't think the nano-bots explanation quite covered that one.

Yes, please do. This series of Doctor Who has been an utter joy, and tonight's was quite simply the best 45 minutes of televison I have seen in a very, very long time. I cried - not at anything in particular, the way I did in Father's day, but just because the whole thing was just too good to be true.

No, if you read the 'BBC funding' thread, there are some very strange anti-BBC posters who seem to refuse to believe that the BBC can do anything good (much like my opinion of ITV1 at the moment!). "itv-rocks" is one of those and it was to him/her that I referred specifically.
