Definitely not my sort of films although I do admit to watching The Others - once. He isn't in it for long if I remember rightly.

Nothing concrete, but JB has just given rather an elusive 'maybe' when answering this question. Given this, and the fact RTD has said (DWM 357) episode 13 is a 'bloodbath' it has been guessed by most on the net that jack may come to a sticky end.

Or maybe he's davros. Or the master.

Sorry, I don't have the energy to wade through 54 pages (got stuck at the "what's appropriate for family viewing" point).

I missed DW this weekend - can anyone tell me where I can find a decent synopsis?

Thank you!

Of this list of CE stuff earlier I'd recommend Shallow Grave, Jude and Let Him Have It. And, of course, Cracker, but that's been done to death on these threads already (not least by me). Elizabeth is excellent too but he's not in it tht much.
Bizarre thing is CE hasn't done much comedy before DW - tends to do very intense characters. I've really enjoyed seeing his portrayal of DW because it's shown sides of CE as an actor that surprised and delighted me.
So seeing what I've seen of DT, will his doctor be serious, brooding and intense? (although I think he did a lot of work in 7:84 theatre company in Glasgow which I never saw and was probably quite serious)

Ive just read that The Empty Child/The Dr Dances is only the 4th Dr Who story EVER in which everyone lives!!! (http://www.tvtome.com/DoctorWho_2005) SPOILERS ON THIS SITE!!!!

And this is a CHILDRENS show.Given the number of stories over the past 40 years thats one hell of a body count!

Quite how a story set in the blitz can be said to have no fatalaties is beyond me though- although I am sure it meant no one directly involved in the story

There's only three episodes left! As usual, I have the trailer for next week's episode on my website which you can find by clicking here

I have also added some variations of title sequences on there. If you get time send me an e-mail let me know what you think.

I'm actually looking forward to David Tennant taking over, after the initial shock. I hope he stays longer.

I think DT is much more of an unknown quantity than CE was,at least to me. I had never seen him before Cassanova yet after I watched it I thought great-he will make an excellent Dr Who, now having watched Quatermass I am unsure.

Basically as long as the guy can act, then its up to RTD to set the tone and let DT run with it, lets face it, who actually thought Billie Piper would have pulled it off after it was annouunced she had won the part.

DTs Dr will be his own, and we will just have to wait to see what that is.

Hi all. First post so please be gentle with me! Been following this thread throughout the series but it moves far too fast for me to collect my thoughts properly! Thought I'd pitch in seeing the recent speculation on DT taking over in the role. I've been a huge fan of his since seeing "Taking over the Asylum" over 10 years ago, seen him in quite a range of things since. Please take this in the full-on Doctor Who fan way it's intended but as he played a manic depressive in that series what I saw of him in it suits the role of the Doctor very well I thought. In other words, he can be very funny or very serious as the script requires. Friend told me recently he spent much of last summer at Stratford too - that's acting not working behind the counter in Burger King or anything . He'll be fantastic I'm sure. Didn't see Casanova but same friend told me it wasn't too great, especially the last episode, so if you only know him from that then rest assured that there's much more to him as an actor. (Does anyone know how many episodes RTD is writing for the next series by the way?)
Don't get me wrong, I'm very sorry to see CE leave. Was very VERY relieved when I heard he'd got the part and he's been every bit as good as I expected. Can't believe the series is reaching the end so quickly in fact. Hope the big Bad Wolf reveal is half as satisfying as the speculation I've read here, but as I've avoided the spoilers on the last couple of episodes I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Who were the 14 people who thought last week's episode was very poor?! Were they watching the same channel as me?
Thanks for keeping me thinking so hard during the series everyone!

I can't help but think Clive will be back - alive and well (in some form) before the end of the series. Although he was shot-at by an Auton in episode one, we never actually saw him die.

Is his name mentioned in any of the cast lists for later in the series?

This goes way back to Nancy's brother not dying.

Somebody asked why the kid being brought back from the dead by the nanogenes didn't bring about the beasties from Fathers' Day. Somebody else suggested that it was because he "wasn't dead long enough". That just doesn't work given that Rose's dad wasn't dead at all. CJ's redirection of the Tula ambulance was as much of an anomaly as Rose leaping into the road

So this made me think a bit.

This does seem to imply one of two things.

Either there is a timeline which takes primacy over all others or it was not Jim (?) Tyler's life being saved but the fact that it was done in front of an earlier Dr and Rose.

In fact, if changing history from the actual timeline is enough to bring out the beasties then Dr Wo wouldn't have got past series one with the universe intact!

I would say that Jamie dying was more likely to create the return of The Reapers as he wouldn't have been killed at all if it wasn't for the ambulance travelling back in time and landing on him. The Doctor's interference put the timeline back as it should. Either way they should have appeared technically - (but who cares it was a cracking story).

From the cast list I've seen, Wiz, he's still listed, played by Paterson Joseph.
