I've got a bad feeling about this series...

I can't help feeling that this is going to be a disaster...

Where are the laid-back, level-headed... normal people?

People like BB5's Shell or Stuart, and BB3's Kate or Jonny. It seems to be filled with characters that you either love or hate, and sadly, most I really don't like or don't care about.

I only remotely like Vanessa and Anthony.

No one is normal in there, hardly anyone. It's something I've really noticed. I'm trying my hardest to keep it positive but it's really quite hard, IMO the housemate choices this year was quite poor.

The mix just isn't good enough.

We've got sluts, chavs, witches, camp and gay men, but no normal people, and that, I fear, is what could possibly be BB6's downfall...

It's better than the possibility of BB4, mark II...

I think this is going to be the best BB since Jade!

Anyone think there are people who work on BB in here trying to find out what we think about what's going on? (just my thoughts )

I know what you mean, but BB has moved on, for better or worse, I think that it had to.

It's not old BB, but I think that this could be good on it's own terms.

Why don't you just shut up?

I want a good mix of people. I thought BB5's housemates were ace, and they weren't "white, straight accountants in their 30s" were they?

How many housemates have turned out to be exactly like their application videos? Almost none, especially not the last couple of series. Give them a week or so, I think a lot of them will turn out to be pretty normal.

Sod that. All people like that do is walk around eating and sunning themselves all day, being "nice" and sleapwalking through to the later stages, while all the fuuny ones get rewarded for their entertaining us by getting thrown out.

Bring on the fox hunting belly dancing witches!

I hope so. I keep telling myself to wait until tomorrow evening. I'm sure it'll all be fine.
Maybe I'm just tired. I got myself really excited so I suppose it was a slight anticlimax.

I hope some of them shed the sensationalist skins they currently have and come out as versatile and interesting human beings.

That's what was so great about BB5, the mix of different and average people.

i instantly felt the same of the BB5 housemates, but after a few days i warmed to them, i'd say Makosi was "normal"

It's only just begun - give them a chance! Who wants to watch so-called 'normal' people anyway - don't we see enough of them in everyday life?

I'm being attacked here for stating my opinion.

All I'm saying is that as a group I don't think this year's housemates are as strong as last year's.

I might well be wrong, time will tell, but it's my gut first reaction.

I can see where you're coming from - last year was successful because it divided everyone, with one or two people (who were more or less universally accepted) in the middle of them. So far I can't see anyone like that, and we could just end up with a big cluster of attention whoring for 10 weeks.

That said, it's been on for less than 4 hours, so I'll reserve my judgement for a bit

There's no such thing as normal.

Agreed about Ant & Vanessa.

Sam is too quiet to be judged, so you may be right.. Max is quite rude IMO and on the verge of being a Chav.

Makosi, well she's in her own little world. She reminds me of Emma in that sense.

BB Addict - don't worry! At the start of BB1, BB2 and BB3, I warmed to the housemates immediately. In BB4, I new the housemates weren't right straight away. In BB5 last year, I honestly thought that it was the end for BB, but after about a week I warmed to them and picked a favourite.

This year, I don't have a favourite yet, but I can tell that they are a good bunch. It takes time, but don't worry.
