I know, normal isn't a very good way of describing it. I don't suppose anyone understands what I'm getting at here.

Anyone who does agree, please tell me you can see what I'm getting it.

I'm not deeming it a disaster, I'm just saying that at first glance I'm not as excited about it as last year.

I think it pretty obvious they are - Endermol need to keep the ratings up. Lots of people are BB addicts and its a keep the nation interested by what's being said in DS (everyone in the media reads DS).

Wonder how many people tuned into Celb Sex Island where nothing is happening tonight?

this year we have a similar mix to last year, we seem to have traded a transexual for a witch, so I dont see what the problem is

No I didn't.

I'm not saying gay people are not normal at all!

Compare BB5's Dan to BB6's Craig. Both gay, both camp, both hairdressers.

However, Dan didn't say the "F" word every other word in his audition, and didn't parade around like an arrogant prick the whole time.

I know exactly how your feeling, because I felt the same last year. Just give it a week, and I bet your addicted. Right now your dissapointed, but trust me, that dissapointment will be gone soon.

the problem they have is that last year was so successful they are now trying desparatesly to out-do BB5 and be as 'un-normal' as possible. Might be wrong - but yes it could be nearly as much a turn-off as BB4.

Thank you both very much for posting constructive replies, unlike elpaw who seems to think he/she is so hysterically funny with their patronising comments such as "I really don't see what the problem is", and constant nitpicking.

Ozzy, I'm going to stick with it, I just wanted to share my gut opinion. I'm almost certain things will improve and most of the "in your face" types will calm down.

Car, you also post a valid point. But I'm sure time will tell.

I really do understand what you mean, I'm being very reserved with my judgement so far as I'm sure people will begin to calm down from the stereotypes that they portrayed in their auditions (which obviously got them into the house in the first place!).

We will just have to wait and see, but it really does seem at this point that maybe BB have gone too far this time in trying to create conflict and sex.

The words "camp and gay" were supposed to go together. So in effect I should have used semicolon's, but I didn't.

I really don't see the need for nitpicking. I am the least homophobic person you'd ever meet. I think most mature people can understand what I mean, even if I find it hard to express.

I agree wholeheartedly with the title of this thread. The expectations were sky high after BB5 and this year's Hms just lack charisma.

I think you’ll find that’s "camp gay men".

Dear me. If you disagree with my opinion, feel free to say so so long as you can back your opinions up.

A bad way of disagreeing is by disregarding my opinion which I am wholly entitled to. Now I suggest you bugger off out of this thread unless you agree to start acting your age and not your shoesize.

If you do continue to post your snide remarks, I will report you. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

True, but why is it that I prefer Dan to Craig so vehemently?

im not nitpicking your opinion, its your argument.

something like:
a) this year there are no normal people and it will be bad.
b) last year was a good mix of people and it was good.

all Im saying is that last years mix and this years mix are pretty similar, and so your argument is flawed.

*insert snide remark followed by a *

Thanks for the compliment - I'm sure time will tell, just doesn't have the same feeling as last year, may be wrong though.

I don't think it's really your place to say if my argument is flawed. You can put your case forward but it's not really your right.

IMO the mix of housemates this year is vastly different from last year. I mean, at least last year there were some people I could relate to.

I was agreeing with you until you said that. If you put your opinion into a forum then you should expect it to be challenged.

No i am the least homphobic person youll ever meet, lets have a competition to see who can be the least homophobic!

In all seriousness. Your first post could be construed the way elpaw interprets it. But your later posts reveal that is not what you meant at all, when you expanded on your reasons, most people will see that.

However:

Elpaw is labouring the extreme political correctness angle.
and a classic tactic of fans of extreme political correctness, is to take one statement you might have made, regardless of wether this is subsequently extrapolated and explained properly, ignore any subsequent explanation, and to use that first statement as a stick to beat you with, in order to win the argument.

This gives the proponent of the extreme political correctness tactic a feeling of personal empowerment and well being.

Safe in the knowlage that they have "put somone in thier place"
