There's always been a stigma attached to saying you watch big brother. The instant reaction is that you have no life or friends so have to watch others.

Well with this years show having a chav pornstar theme to it, Do you think the stigma will now be worse as you will also be seen to be a pervert with no friends or life.

Discuss...

A lifeless lonely pervert.
I can live with that.

After five series I've become immune to the abuse, try mentioning you belong to a BB forum and the abuse gets worse Funny though, how the people who slate BB seem to know an awful lot about it

Cause we have freinds or a life, it's on at 10pm/9pm for God sakes, can't exactly do much then...it's just entertainment, it's just like saying TV is sad then...

There's a lot of snobbery among university types about Big Brother.

I bet you could count the number of posters on here, who've been to uni, on one hand.

I really couldn't care less what people think of me for watching it.

And if they want to add being a pervert to the list of "insults" this year then that's fine by me

Edit: And I have an Honours Degree and just about to complete a Post Graduate Course ... from what I've read there are quite a few academic people on here.

I'm quite comfortable with telling anyone I love Big Brother.

Everyone at school knows I am a BB fan, I transformed some BB haters and they now love this year

What a complete and utter load of old tosh. I went to a BB launch party last night and out of 14 guests 11 had a degree, three of those had MAs.

So why are half the contestants who are/have been on Big Brother at Uni?

Answer- they are closet BB fans, but dont want to admit it........

I do - please don't generalise, I expect you think most of the posters on here are teenagers as well

Wtf? Read my original post again.

I said "I bet you could count the number of posters on here, who've been to uni, on one hand".

And I said "There's a lot of snobbery among university types about Big Brother."

Did I say EVERY person at, or who has ever been to, university thinks big brother is beneath them?....no.

It makes you no more sad than the human psychologists that watch the program.

Big brother has always been a proverbial cage of guinea pigs which we can occasionally poke with a stick (evictions)

I did get funny looks last night from the guys I work with when I said that I was upset at missing the BB launch. However, it also happened to be the quietest Friday night that I have seen at work in a long time - surely not a conincidence that BB was starting?

(btw I have an honours degree and I'm currently studying for my MA)

I know of at least 5 people currently studying for a degree and who post on here....including those who've already said they are graduates that makes more than I can count on one hand

You can't generalise about these things, people are different, and people like BB for different reasons.

IMHO, of course

Agreed! Its usually those that sneer the most, that just happen to know what is going on in the house and who is who.

Well I'm a BB addict and proud of it !

I will repeat myself again, I said "There's a lot of snobbery among university types about Big Brother".

Did I say EVERY person at, or who has ever been to, university thinks big brother is beneath them?

How is that generalising?

That isn't generalising.

And neither is this.

"There's a lot of snobbery among university types about Big Brother".
