If You're Having Problems With 705 On Freeview

And have a Nokia 121T, Nokia 221T, PC TV Card or something else where you can input the PID numbers, do so. It removes the MHEG overlay and also change the PCR number to instead of it ending in 01 change it to 00 and it won't be out of sync anymore.

Alternatively, for anybody with an ITV or ON Digital box, simply pressing the pink "Guide" button will remove the MHEG layer to reveal the live feed video on 705.

But isn't it all out of sync for you, if you view the 705 feed?

Go to 705, select subtitles, and you should be able to watch the stream without the MHEG popping up.

Cheers for that works well for me using that, as i had it with my info box open covering half the screen

Nope - because subtitles aren't enabled on the stream, it doesn't let me select any - therefore, the MHEG comes back. Anyways, I can watch it on my new custom install channel I made without the MHEG and it's in sync too after I changed the PCR number to the same as E4's (it was 1 out on the 705 stream - hence why it's out of sync on there, but not on E4 or on my new stream).

Pressing Subitles didnt work for me but pressing guide when the mheg layer appears works fine. For some reason when I go to E4 the red dot doesnt appear so the only way i can get it is by watching 705

Well when I press guide, the MHEG layer goes away, but comes back again when the guide goes off the screen. But, as I said, I have another stream to watch that I made myself anyway.

I am fed up of watching the live feed on 705 with the info box up so that the overlay isnt on all the time. The only time I saw the press red button on E4 was during the repeat of BBLB! Why not put it on during non-BB programmes so we can watch 705 properly????

Anyone found a non-technical way of getting rid of it, I don't understand all this MHEG stuff!!!!

MHEG is just the fancy name for the overlay, as you call it.

I've got an old Pioneer box with really buggy software so the MHEG layers stop working completely after about a day after it has been re-booted. I haven't actually rebooted it for about 2 months now though.

Well you can't input PID numbers anyway, Archie85.

705 was dropping put with a re-direction banner to E4. Turned off the MHEG and I have interactive all the time now.

Box is a Thomson DTI 2300 .....

Working fine for me on a bush box (I'm I the only one who thinks thats rather vulgar sounding), thought I always wondered why everyone used to moan about the sound cuts.
