i like the bitching, fights, arguments and back stabbing like any other big brother fan but in my opinion it has started way to early.

i always enjoy the first week when people get to know each other and the group is all together chatting and stuff. to me its a very imporatnt part of the show just to relax into it and see how relationships come together.

this year there already seems to be a divide in less than 24 hours and the bithching is already starting to get serious and as much as i like it i prefer the calm before the storm of the first week that normally happens.

what do you guys think?

I agree with the first part. I was hoping that it would start later. THough it is going how I wanted it to. I have to wait until tonight to really get to know Sam. Though Maxwell is very shallow and arrogant. So I think Craig/Makosi/Lesley are right to bitch about him.

I think they r all trying to much to appear to be exhibstionist ppl who are totally not with it.

They to me have spoilt this years BB by being to full on straight away.
I am not wat ching like i have done before not one person has taken my interest.

Last year i thought omg they are all weird because of Marco and nadia didnt really see others but after the very first day i fell in love with stuart then i really suprised myself by falling in love with michelle lollllll

so to me they are BIG BROTHER lol

The only thing I'm struggling with, is that this may well be the first year I can't actually support anyone.

I can't say I dislike it as such but dont believe at this point in the time that it will be better than BB5.
If anything, the arguements that we have seen so far and will see may feel acted out in an attempt by the contestants to replicate what they saw last year.
As someone who was never particuarly vocal about whether BB5 was good or bad, i'm now finally looking back and missing it a little bit.
When they all entered last year, the characters seemed defined immediately.
Right now, the BB6 alot are all a bit vague and random and they seem like a hybrid of contestants we had in the past, none of them particularly unique apart from Derek.

Im not expecting a spectacular run in terms of events this year, but am hoping I will be proved wrong.

It's fine, it's only been 24hrs. See what you think in a few days. I've not been watching because I can't, at least not this afternoon, since I'm an NTL sucker. Let's see what tonight's show brings. Homer, you on the web stream? I hear there's too many silences on there? Fair play if they're swearing all the while.

There's not much humour at the start of this one. All the other years(except BB4) there was lots of hilarity and high jinx when they arrived and got to know each other. This year is a bit dour. Hopefully it'll pick up.

To be honest, I'm enjoying this more than BB5.

We need a bit of humour - if someone can step up to the plate on that then I think we'll be in for a classic.

Otherwise the moaning (oh I'm sorry - bitching) will get very dull very soon.

I agree with FinalBroadcast, although disapointed in the male eye candy

Bb4 gave you slightly irritating HM - nothing happened. BB5 gave you mostly irritating HM and you got fight night. BB6 gives you mostly very irritating people designed to clash - of course they will clash. Thats probably also one reason why Roberto, Mary, Derek and Sam/Saskia are there to calm it and there is no one in there as dangerous in a row as Victor, Jason, Marco amd Nadia.

I haven't been able to get excited over BB6 for some reason... I think the whole format has had its day but I'll grit my teeth and see if the HMs actually develop.

I'm not really getting into it so far. That could be because I found my housemate on the first night last year. Too many kids this year IMO.

I gotta say, I'm hooked already, got my faves (Makosi, Vanessa and Mary) I think Maxwell could be a bit of a **** and hope he's not favourite for too long, I don't like Anthony on first impressions. I must say, the "secret mission" stuff has me in stitches, I love the way Makosi is creating drama for no reason and the rest just think she's weird. I don't think there coulda been a better person for the job than her.

I didn't think it was going to be that good but after tonight's C4 show then i think i am hooked all over again.

I think the Sceince/Kamel arguments are really going to start to grate. I can understand why Sam and Saskia are sick of it.

I'm disappointed too - I think Endemol have picked too many controversial figures, designed to make them clash straightaway. Thinking back to BB1 & BB2, what worked was the fact that they were all pretty normal people - we all knew someone like Paul, Craig, Caroline or Dean. The enjoyment came from seeing fairly ordinary people bonding, arguing, making it up, bitching, getting drunk, etc.

As soon as Endemol started trying to play with the format, it hasn't worked as well for me. Last night I really was pretty appalled by some of the people they'd chosen. It seems to me that they're less concerned with the psychological balance in the house, and just want to ignite tensions. Great for getting people talking about BB, but it's not sustainable over a long period of time. I can see quite a few HMs deciding to leave as a result.

Do we think it's a deliberate tactic? A lot of them seem like people who really wind you up. The calm ones are there to calm, but also to get annoyed by the irritating ones. And was it the same tactic last year?

Those screaming people you see flashing by in the title sequence get me thinking - that's how I'd feel if I was in there... get me out!!
