She asked a question, & the result was a conversation that just got out of hand. First he felt like he was being expected to do something unnecessary, then he felt like he was being talked down to. She in turn felt like he was being disrespectful to her. Six of one, half dozen of the other.

I can't see how asking why Makosi doesn't go back to her own country can be seen as anything other than as a racist insult.

Maybe someone might see him as a "bit of a character", but so far it looks to me that he has a very unpleasant, hateful side to him.

I would imagine that that statement "go back to your own country" could be classed as racist if Makosi was actually English. But she isn't so what's the big deal. If she had been an australian and it was said it wouldn't be a problem, but you shouldn't take it as racist just because she's black.
