Your only calling him a racist because he said it to a black person.
What if he said to an australian, like was said by the poster before you.
Or what if he said it to a scott, or any other white nationality?
You probably wouldn't even have noticed.

People like you make me sick by playing the race card at every opportunity, acting as if it puts you on the moral high ground.
Not to mention how pretentious it is to be offended on someone elses behalf.

Am i suppose to sit here...and actually believe that some of you REALLY dont think that was a racist thing that maxwell said?? Are some of you people in that much denial? or do you all share the same views as him along side the BNP? Saying to an ethnic minority to "piss off back to your own country" is not racist?? I fear the type of people who vote on this show..You probably all hate her anways because of her "background" anyways. Lets look at this logically for all those people who are seriously ignorant..We all know that racists and right wingers believe that this country should be white only..so him saying piss off back to your own country means that she doesnt belong here because its HIS country..if thats not racist i dont know what is..so some of you can shove that PC gone mad comments up your a*

It's not pc crap it's fact.

I personally have had it said to me in both manners. One because I'm mixed race and growing up in Scotland it was said to me a lot. As I was actually born in Scotland then it was a racist comment as the protaganists were saying that because I'm half black I don't belong there.

On the other hand I live in England now and on occassions when I've been bleating on about how wonderful Scotland is I've been told I should go back and live there then and quite rightly so.

If she had been a white Zimbabwean or South African and it had been said to her no-one would have jumped on the racist bandwagon. Just because someone is black doesn't mean that every insult they get is racist. You can be black and an asshole and deserve it as much as the next person. You just shouldn't jump on the racist bandwagon.

really this has nothing to do with nationality , or being told to go back to her own country. Its just because she is black.
I like the way he dodged the point about a white immigrant being told to go back to thier own country. It kind of proves the issue for SIMPLY AMAZING is purely a colour issue, while to everyone else its a nationality issue.

But thats typical of people who play the race card. They skip over the bits that prove they are lovey dovey lefties who like to jump on bandwaggons and focus on the parts tha back up thier agenda.

yawn...just because your mixed race and you believe its not racist does that mean that its not?? if i call someone a pufter and someone gay was to come on and say.."oh by the way your not a homophobe..why? because im gay so that makes my point valid"..am i suppose to be greatful? You are all jumping to your own conclusions "if she was white..if she was australian" blah blah..the point is shes NOT...and with the views of the BNP who believe every ethnic minority should be out of this country,,we know exactly what HE meant by his comment...You ignorant people try to defend racism at its finest..with the PC gone mad crap..playing the racism card crap...yet no one can actually say why in the hell would he say such a flipping comment in the first place...

She is a british citizen as she has a british passport as she lives here and is at univesity here..so if i was as ignorant as some of you lot..then his comment wouldnt make sense..because this is her country now..so i guess that she should piss off to back here then..

She was talking about how she could speak 10 languages...and maxwell took it as that she was making out like he was dumb..so he said she should piss off back to her own country

And to be fair, he does have a poofy little mouth.

As for Makosi, as others have have said, he said why doesn't she go back to her own country - NOT IN THE LEAST BIT RACIST, people! He could have said the same thing about someone from any other country in the world, be they black, green, blue,w hile, yellow, or turquoise. If he'd said "why don't you go away and live with all the other black people, then" that would have been racist.

Will the "anything negative said about anyone not 100% caucausian is evil, evil racism" brigade please shoot themselves. You'd all lose in a battle of wits against Jade.

Nice one SIMPLY AMAZING, for admiting that its because she is black and nothing to do with her nationality. i guess we were right.

Do you seriously think that if it really was a racist comment the house wouldnt be as offended as you are?
or are we to believe its only you who knew what he really meant?

Maxwell better be careful that his comment doesnt get aired on ch4 or that people dont find out what he said...because he lives in north london,,and london itself is a very multicultured city..if he continues his extreme views he could get himself a right kick in when he comes out

The fact that I'm mixed race is neither here or there, the point that I was trying to stress is that it can be used and have two different meanings, one of which is most definately not racist. And one more point, just because you call someone a poof doesn't make you a homophobe, it's all in the context.

Every year someone is on here banging on about how racist the public is because theres no black winner and blah blah blah. But the fact is, theres been no black winners because theres been no decent black contestants. And the majority of people who complain about the racism are white and are taking offence on the minorities behalf. That's just as boring as being racist in the first place.

Who are you talking to?
Me?
I hope not.
If you are you'd better check the forum rules again.
You have no right to attack someone personally like that.

My original post was just what I feel, nothing more, nothing less. It appears that other people are more angry than I am.
I said it just looked out of order, and I don't want to pre-judge the guy.

So if I've made you sick, and you think I'm trying to act as though my opinion puts me on some moral high ground, then that's your mind reading into something that isn't there.

And I haven't said I'm offended on anyone else's behalf at all, you said that.
But for some reason you are the one offended for some reason. I just posted my feelings on an event in the house. Just like anyone else does.

You called me pretentious for this. I think you are getting very personal and I suggest you just answer to the content of the post.
I haven't attacked or flamed anyone, and neither should you.

My opinion in the first post in this thread is just an opinion and feeling on what somebody on the show said.
It seems quite acceptable to write spiteful posts about someone being bitchy, overweight, or too weird, or too anything else.

Maxwell's comment is as valid a discussion point as anything else.
There is no reason for you to suddenly lash out at me as though I've done something wrong.

And yes, I would post exactly the same if the person in question was Australian, Scottish, or any other white personality.

You can agree or disagree with me, but don't personally attack me. I haven't had a go at anyone else on here.

if you being mixed raced is neither here or there then why mention it in the first place??

you mentioned it as if to make a point that your views should be more real because you have black in you and its a racist issue

is anyone else mentioning their own race and colour in this thread? and what does this thread have to do with no black contestants winning bb? is anyone mentioning that in this thread??

I thought we were talking about the comment maxwell made..seems like your going off subject to rant about something else. If your really that clueless to life then do some reseach on the BNP and national front and see if they wouldnt be cheering at maxwells comment

Or maybe you just look for opportunities like this to jump on the bandwaggon and stir it up.

Do you honestly believe that as stupid as maxwell is that he really meant about her nationality? give me a break already. She may be born in Zimbabwe but her nationality now is British as she has a british passport and is legal to live here..so if its about her nationality then that comment doesnt make sense..We have seen how narrow minded he is..i just cant believe that people are trying to defend it..there was even no reason for him to say it..no reason what so ever..

He said go back to your own country.
NOT, go to where other black people are.

He could have said it to ANY nationality or ANY colour.
But your agenda only works if you focus on Makosi's colour right?

Was it not that she said English was her tenth language that Max took issue with? Perhaps when living in England, you should say English is your first language, seeing as that's the language you'll be speaking most of the time.

Because, as I said in the next post, I was trying to stress that I've had experience of this comment and that it CAN be used in a racist way, but also in a "if you don't like it here then go back to your own country" way.

Quote:
“you mentioned it as if to make a point that your views should be more real because you have black in you and its a racist issue”

I wanted you to know that I have experienced racism because of my colour and that yes, I do know what I'm talking about and that as somone from a minority group I don't believe that the original comment made was racist.

Quote:
“and what does this thread have to do with no black contestants winning bb? is anyone mentioning that in this thread??”

It's very relevant as this isn't the first debate I've seen on here accusing people of being racists and homophobes. It's a downward spiral, one person takes one comment the wrong way and as soon as Makosi is voted out, they'll be back on here blaming racists for it.

Quote:
“ If your really that clueless to life then do some reseach on the BNP and national front and see if they wouldnt be cheering at maxwells comment”

Oh, I'm sure they're all up all night watching E4 waiting for someone to say something so they can recruit them when they get out.

Agenda?

I would say the comment Maxwell said would appear racist whoever it was said to.

Maybe you could say why you don't think the comment is racist, dealing with what was actually said, regardless of what you feel about posters and agendas you believe they have.

Did they check their passports at the door? I know we all know that she's got British Citizenship but how are the other housemates to know?

And one more question, if you got a green card to America tomorrow and an American passport, would you start calling yourself an American. No, you'd still class yourself as British. I'm pretty sure Makosi doesn't introduce herself as British but Zimbabwean.
