yes but my point was that in my experience people dont use the word poofter to describe a gay man they use the word poofter to describe a camp man. Kemal and Craig are both raging poofters but Kemal, at least, is not a gay. Marco last year and Brian in BB2 were both poofs, Josh, Derek and Daniel - not so much.

I find it quite disgusting that after having been offline for several hours, several people have posted in this thread to accuse me of lying, twisting the truth, or have some agenda, and even actually say that I myself am racist.

I really should be pressing the alert button for people posting such claims about me.

My post was not posted with malicious intent where I have deliberately decided to make things up and twist the truth.
I really don't know why people would want to twist things around and accuse me of lying or twisting the truth for some reason to attack me personally,...it's simply against the rules.

I haven't even directly accused Maxwell of being racist, I have just said how things looked at this point in time, and have said that I will wait and see how things go over the weeks.
I thought that my contributions have been quite reasonable, and I haven't flown off the handle ranting and raving as some others who are pointing fingers at me appear to have.

I didn't lie or make anything up,...I saw with my own eyes Maxwell recalling what he had said to Makosi to somebody else (Anthony, I think).
So if I have got something wrong, it's only due to Maxwell's own recollection of the incident.

It's not a good feeling when lots of posters all jump in and accuse you of being a liar whose motivation for posting was out of order.

I haven't accused any other poster of being a liar, or being racist. If I did It would be unacceptable.

As a small aside what if you could prove they were either of the two-is it still unacceptable?

It doesn't matter so much what his actual words were, as in his sentiment behind it. His subsequent comment makes more clear what that was, and it certainly betrayed his tendency to xenophobia at least.

Yes, it would still be unacceptable.
I would be breaking the forum rules which are quite clear about this.
It would be unconstructive, and it would be making a personal attack on another forum member.

Well no, you can't really just accuse somebody publicly of being a liar, whether you believe it's true or not.

I think the forum's generally fine as far as rules are concerned.
I don't think it makes a crappy forum if you can't personally attack somebody. I think it makes it better because it's more inviting to people if they feel they can post without getting somebody having a go at them.
After all, we aren't here to judge each other,..it's the show we're meant to be talking about.

Max does seem to be quite prejudice; I’ve also noticed that he does seem to be racist, homophobic and is defiantly sexist. I’m not saying that’s acceptable, but hopefully some of his beliefs will be questioned during his stay in the house - If not, then he won’t last very long because people will not warm to his Alf Garnet like persona.
