I sense Mary is not being 'herself'.
No big reasons - I saw her smirk last night when Max came out with a one liner, I don't think the Mary we are meant to see is supposed to smirk at laddish comments
Also - her birthdate suggests that she is not above manipulation and would rarely hesitate to turn on the charm to get her own way. She's intelligent enough to realise that it is highly likely that 'charming' the HM's (by the popular definition) would be dispised by the viewers and possibly seen through by the HM's. We could in fact be witnessing a very different aspect of 'charm'.
I also don't buy the 'I was force by E4 to wear a cape' excuse. It doesn't fit in with her buying a broom especially for BBLB.

I do have my doubts about Mary. I can't help feeling that a genuine white witch would not have agreed to appear as she did on Friday in something much like the traditional Hallowe'en witch's outfit — the hooded cloak and the broomstick. OK, so no doubt the producers wanted her to appear like that, but I think a genuine white witch would have resisted being presented in such a stereotyped way.
Then, too, there are her photographs that show her with a mad, wide-eyed stare — again playing up to the outdated stereotype of the witch.
Maybe one reason why she's seemed so unhappy is because she's acting a role that she feels uncomfortable with?

I dont understand how mary can have any fans...she is one of the most vile and repulsive people ever to appear on reality tv...im surprised ANYONE has voted for craig to go...yes hes annoying but hes no mary...
