Yes I've noticed that too, the way they have it all choppy and stuck up in different directions (must think they're the new generation of punks

To me it looks more like a stunted loo brush which is pretty much in keeping with his personality.

I think the housemates would appreciate it enormously (thus inadvertantly causing me to appreciate it too) as the entertainment value of a disembodied head has to be enormous.
