I'm not sure how i feel about this series so far. My problem is that i lvoed bb5 so much that i keep comparing. It seems fake this year as Makosi's mission was very clever way for big brother to cause conflict. However is all the arguements really what people love about big brother? What i love about big brother is all the funny moments and the classic moments that come out of the series. This year so far is all about arguing and its boring. Ofcourse it's fun watchin a huge arguemnt but only a few in the series. Mybe its too early to say but at the moment i am fed up of all the arguemnts and i want the fun and laughter. (eg. naked mud wrestling)

how do you guys feel about it?

I'd agree with all you said. BB5 was always going to be a hard act to follow.

This lot are trying hard, though. I'm hooked, but waiting for more than non-stop bitching/arguing

I did the comparing thing after BB2 and didn't enjoy the following 3 BB.
I'm liking BB6 although I fell for the 'insecure Mary' thing.

One week on and it seems, to me, that Saskia is in more need of moral support .....

Considering we are less than a week in I am thoroughly enjoying BB, and I wish people would stop screeching 'it's not as good as BB5' FFS it might be better it might be worse but there is no way of telling just yet.

Watching the first week of BB6 has just made me realise how poor BB5 was.

We were looking for a 'fix' of Big Brother in 2004, denied it in 2003. Channel 4 went all out... and we weren't disappointed. But looking back to BB5 I think we may simply have been thankful that it wasn't BB4... in other words, the failure of BB4 emphasised its greatness.

Don't get me wrong, I still think BB5 was an OK series and worthy of the Big Brother name - a lot happened in that show. But BB6 has hooked me much more from the start and I feel I'm beginning to understand the characters more and watch them develop. In BB5 we were denied this character development and it's the bit of BB I enjoy watching.

For some strange reason I'm just getting the 'feel' of earlier series from this BB. Not particularly sure why but it reminds me slightly of the days of BB2 and BB3 (with slightly more twists) which ain't a bad thing in the slightest. As long as the editing and manipulation doesn't get too bad (fingers crossed) I think this could be one of BB's better outings.

By the way notice how i said SO FAR in the title, i didn't say it wasn't going to be as good as bb5 i was just saying from what we've seen so far.

bb5 will be hard to follow.
it was just so good at how they got a full on war going for the first time.

now they are "ready" for it they will be half expecting or half hamming it up for the famous "do they think i am thick" panto outfit soundbites.

I'm considering claiming back my summer for the 1st time since BB1 and switching off

I'm reserving judgment at the moment.

My problems with it thus far are that the arguments are too frequent and it will become boring and tedious.

As yet I don't connect with any of the HMs - in order for me to enjoy BB I have to at least feel some empathy, sympathy, liking for the HMs and at the moment that just isn't happening. I am concerned that it may get to the point where I think so little of them that the "Car crash" element of the programme won't hold my interest for the full eleven weeks.

I am waiting and seeing though, as last year I didn't like it in the first week due to the whole Kitten thing, so maybe after this week it will improve. The only one I have liked from the very start is BB3 - which for me was the best.

I'm bored already .... Mokasi is getting on my nerves already and the ones I thought I'd like at the beginning I not keen on them now

I'm totally loving this series so far...!

Last year, the first week was basically The Kitten Show. And while Makosi is quite a prominent housemate, the others aren't letting her steal the limelight. So this year wins for most entertaining first week...

I think this series will be a grower. Over the next few weeks the clashing of personalities will quiten down and people won't be fighting for centre stage anymore.

Big Brother 5 was all about conflict and arguing - hello?! Hareem/Jungle Cats?! Jason/Nadia's arguments being the highlights of the series?! Bootcamp task, wedding task resulting in arguments?!

Yes bb5 had lots of arguments, but it also was very fun. I laughed loads whilst watching the series from something of the things they did and said. We dont want to watch 11 weeks with every single day an arguement and no classic fun moments.

It would not be the same without Mary.

She's made the show so far.

It's rubbish so far.

Craig and Lesley get way too much screen time, and it's already reached the point where I stop watching when it looks like we'll get another(!) big dose of them.

Makosi's task is creating very artificial tensions and makes the whole show seem contrived.

Mary is either an irritating flake or a total fake. And she and Vanessa (who might otherwise be likeable) spend way too much time with Craig and Lesley.

It says something when a pompus Tory is one of the most likeable HMs in there (and not a good thing either).

There have been some amusing moments though even if some were fights??

Derek's poem
"Whatever Minger"
The Suitcase Keys
Kemal and Science "Ghetto Fabulous"

I certainly haven't been bowled over so far but it's early days so who knows?

I like watching genuine friendships develop and I have seen very little of this so far. Most of the friendships that have developed seem contrived to me but I could be just cynical in my old age!!
