right just got off the phone to ntl and i dont know about anyone else but i signed upfor broadband plus on monday from the ntl homepage....
now apparently even though i did that it wasnt on my account so the person who i spoke to has now upgraded my account to broadband plus ....
only problem with this now is that while my modem is being upgraded i cant get on the net as ive no internet connection and it could take upto 24 hours to upgrade.
im on my boyfriends pc at the moment which is bt/yahoo so i cant even check the broadband page now.

and according to the girl i spoke to (who sounded a lot like lesley funnily enough) the live streaming has been up and running since the start of the programme

once i can get back online with ntl ill let you all know if being upgraded by phone makes any difference

Ouch. I did the same (registering on Monday).

What a phenomenal display of incompetence.

Will the NTL broadband plus be better quality than the streaming from channel 4.

My God, this company ceases to amaze me. If that was the case no one would be posting that they can't connect on this thread. Also, how can it be a broadband plus issue if everyone can access all the other content. It either works or it doesn't. I may try calling a bit later and see if I can speak to someone at ntl who knows thier arse from their elbow.

Resistance is futile!!

Thanks for trying anyway ashanti.

A friend last year was using Real Superpass which is what NTL will be plugining in to. He used a network sniffer to sniff the url to the stream and sent me the rstp:// link. I seem to remember the quality being superior to that what was available while the Ch4 feed was free the other day. So in answer to your question, there is a good chance it will be. However, any quaility is better than we are getting at the moment.

i used it last year and the quality was good compared to the c4 one i had seen , however they have to work out what the hell they are doin first , typical NThelL

I wouldnt bother paying NTL £14.99 (or anyone) for the streaming of Big Brother!

Get yourself a DTT/Freeview box for around £30 (if you shop around) and you can watch Channel 4/E4/E4+1 and 24 hour streaming (but with some ads)

You will then have the freeview box AFTER BB has finished and is much better value.

I have mine plugged into my pc and watching (and recording) bits on the pc.

i already have sky and ntl cable (cable came free when i had my phone put on) so i dont really want another box lying around ..

and i have one telly which is dominated by my kids (cbeebies) so live streaming just for BB seemed like a good idea...

shame they dont take people without credit card into consideration ... we could have posted off postal orders 2 weeks before it started or something ...

oh well ......

He said they also won't bother if you only go over the limit now and again at other times. He said the only people they would email to give a warning, is the people who regually go over their daily limit.

It comes own to us checking the streaming page every now and then to see if it has started. If it does can you please post in here about it, so everyone on NTL knows. ”

I'm on NTL and download between 6 and 10 gigs a day and have done for a couple of years now...never had one complaint from NTL and as soon as i get one I'll be switching to bulldog or pipex who are unmetered and faster and cheeper....

How can you be an unregistered customer if you have been using their equipment, that they obviously installed? I bet your details would have flashed up in a second when it came to preparing the bills for the month.

I wouldn't have thought it possible to download 6 to 10 gigs per day. What on earth are you downloading?
