I want to try to avoid the rip-off high street shops. I heard from one person who called Vodafone direct and managed to haggle on the phone to get a deal he wanted, with lots of free texts etc, and the phone was posted to him and it worked out much better than shop deals. Has anyone else done this?

What is the point of having a contract especially with Vodafone, have you not heard of stop the clock?

Use orange or o2 and get free texts on a pay as you go.

There is a bargain.

You pay for the first 3 minutes of the call and get upto the next 60 minutes free. Look on the vodafone site.

Sorry to be pedantic, but as I understand it it's actually upto another 57 minutes, making an hour in total

I dont like O2. Would prefer a contract too. And what has stop the clock got to do with anything, what are you on about? You've not really put up a case against going with Vodafone tbh.

Stop the clock saves you money on Vodafone so why bother with a contract?

Vodafone are not any better than o2 either take ages to get things sorted,so do o2 as they dont know what you mean half the time but they reply quickly lol

Well I was with O2 for 2 years and then changed cos they p*ssed me off.

I dont use my phone much, rarely talk for more than 3 minutes so stop the clock sounds pointless for me.

I'm not a huge mobile fan, what with all the radiation etc, so i try to keep usage down to essential calls.
