RE: Paying £10 for the airtime

You pay Fresh £10, which they then put on a SIM card and send out to you. The SIM card is then credited with £10 which YOU can use right until the last penny, therefore meaning YOU have gotten the most out of the £10 you have spent, meaning your SIM card was free.

Like somebody has already said, it's a good marketing tool that the CPW/Fresh have used on the mentioned website - it's been used by many companies before and certainly isn't misleading.

No, its not misleading (for your silly little vote)”

I am afraid it is misleading.

If my vote is silly then why vote?

You dont get anything for nothing in this world - you may realise that once you have left school, grown up and left home. Maybe got a job, a house, a wife/husband and have kids.

Maybe you will realise that an advert that says

Free sim plus £10 airtime from £10 means something costs at least £10

You will then realise that expecting a sim card to come with £10 credit and you not paying a penny is not going to happen. You will also realize that if something says FREE, it is not talking about competely free of cost but means free as part of a package.

ie Free x when you purchase Y

Come back when you have some grasp of commerce and then we can discuss what is and isn't a valid advert”

My my,took you a while to come up with that didn't it.
Did i hit a nerve? lol,if you can not take it do not dish it out.

I suggest you find a hobby other than looking at porn on the internet and get out more.

Have a great life,(stuck at home like Norman M Bates)

I will spell it out for you like mummy does

If

You

Have

To

Pay

For

Something

Then

It

Is

Not

Free

And = plus

It infers that you are getting the sim and the £10 credit for Free.

Go ask your local Citizens Advice or mummy,if you have one that is.

Not my fault you can not count.

Back to your bedroom Norman.

In your style...

You
don't
have
to
pay
for
the
SIM
but
the
air
time
costs
a
tenner.

Nowhere on that page does it infer the £10 air time is free.

It's free SIM PLUS £10 air time, not free sim WITH £10 air time. You are buying both items together, however the SIM part is free. Plus means "in addition to" not "comes with".

If you can't figure that out, or speak to other FMs in a sensible non-pisstaking manner, please don't speak to them at all.

2 questions for you.

1 - can you find any company giving something away for free on the highsteet. That is one where you does not have to pay for something. It can be mobile phone, clothes, music or anything.
2 - why ask for peoples opinions only to get into a hissy fit if they disagree with you?

Oh - any you know nothing about me. Please refrain from posting any comments about my self as they will obviously be untrue.

This is getting silly now, crazyjim - Just accept the majority of people see this as a clever marketing tool and to the majority of people, it is not misleading. Munta, don't react to his childish comments because it's making you look bad. my friend.

i must agree with the fact that carphone warehouses advertising seems to be a very dodgy afair, my friend recently paid £280 for a siemens sf65 from there, having seen in there guide that it does video (check it out for yourselves!). However, it first appeared that it didnt seem to have video on it and so we searched in the instruction manual, on the internet and in mobile phone magazines and nowhere did it say anything about the phone being able to do video!!! what a bunch of liars, they claimed it wasnt their fault, we shouyld have looked at the manual before purchase, how can you look at a boxed sealed manual before you purchase the phone!!!!!!!!!!!!! if that is not false advertisement then what is!!

Then request a refund as it wasn't fit for the purpose it was intended for (video calling) when their advertising clearly stated it did.

f they refuse, request to speak to a manager and if they still refuse, just say "OK I am taking this down to the local trading standards (with a copy of the ad)" and then see what they do.

Agreed - a text book example of mis-selling. If they do not agree to the refund then trading standards will have them over a barrel.

I'd rather get an apology and I'm sure Beth is very busy with the BB6 forum at the moment.

well if it were my phone id have been in the shop refusing to leave until they sorted it out for me but it was my mate who bought it and he was just like, 'oh well, ill just keep the phone' wish i had £280 to waste on a rubbish phone, just amke sure none of you go out and get this phone thinking it does video as they are liars, in fact i would reccommend that none of you buy anything from carphone warehouse!!! here are two prime examples in just one thread about how they are trying to get money out of you through false advertisement!!!

The example you gave is definately false advertising. As far as the example in this thread is concerned, I do not believe that to be false as the price is clearly stated prior to purchase. IE you know exactly what you are buying at the point of sale.

Ok - perhaps I should never have gotten involved in a thread where the OP asks for peoples opinions and then gets irate because someone disagrees with their views. But hay ho - this is DS after all.

PS. I also agree with your post but just wanted to set the record straight.”
