Apparently he was on GMTV this morning and said there was no single. I didn't see it but have read it elsewhere.

It hasn't been pulled because there was never anything to say there was a single in the first place, that was just us over zealous fans and wishful thinking

I watched GMTV, and there was no promise or denial of a single, so there could still be one in the pipeline for all we know I suppose we will just have to wait and see

I think Steve is just being cautious as to the single. He was asked yesterday on the OS about it and neither confirmed or denied there would be a single.

He can't sell his album and he's aimed at the housewives so his record company know a single would be a really bad idea.

Getting to no 1 is no achievement if the album doesn't continue to sell. All it shows is that he has a small core of fans who will buy any old rubbish, and that he will not survive in the cuthroat world that is the music business. He needs to go back to singing in pubs.

Indeed. A singer with a £1,000,000 recording contract, who won a high profile TV talent show, has released one single and doesn't appear to intend to release any more and whose album has flopped. Hmmmmmmm

Methinks the old pop dumper beckons!

Looks like some people are due refunds for their faulty crystal balls Maybe they should have got them from the same shop Walford Will got his from

Wouln't you just love that, if your posts are anything to go by. Pity it's not going to happen though

Btw you do know it's against the rules to talk about banned members, unless they have been reinstated, as they can't answer back or reply to posts. Of course you know that, as you seem to know so much already. Or maybe not

Oh dear. There is a rather sarcastic and defensive element on hear - folk who can't bear that others may disagree with their thoughts. Fact is, there are many Steve lovers around but frankly in real terms, success has not arrived in the manner in which many who like him, expected. It is all relative though - it really depends on your definition of success. If it's winning a game show or talent show, then he's achieved a major goal.

Seriously, the expectations that winners of game shows go on to achieve world domination is a naive one - the real winners are the TV companies and those whose ideas give birth to the programmes in the first place. Of course, one assumes the panel judges are well paid too. In terms of fame, Steve B has had his 15 minutes - probably much more. But when it comes to major contributions to music, looking back in years to come, I'm afraid he will be no more than a housewive's choice. Fair play to him for even achieving that, as the vast majority of us never will - and maybe don't want to either!

His album had a terrible bland cover. With a small picture of him on the front. It should have had a close up of his face, then people would remember him quicker.

Sounds like a pretty convincing compromise to effect a contractual termination.

Record company get to wriggle out of their obligations by 'allowing' him to resign for the sake of his art.

Good news too for the fans who expressed concern about his management and promotion - they will I imagine be excited at the thought of which record company will snap him up.

Oh Oh..I think Steve's losing it a bit now and if those quotes are correct he can definitely say goodbye to another single or album, which I thought was a very longshot in any case.

He may have had a No 1 album but it only sold around 100K - last time I saw any figures. A No 1 album doesn't mean anything if the artist doesn't sell up to the label's sales forecast. 100K may be OK on a small Independent label but for a major like Sony/BMG I don't think it's anywhere near sufficient. I doubt the label made any profit with sales in that range and IMO profit is the bottom line....

Hey Lola...nice to see you I still make the odd visit but it's not too encouraging on the Steve front unless I've misread the whole situation...

I don't know why anybody bothers with all these shows. Steve has obviously failed, just give up now it's pitiful.

Look how busy another great pop idol is

She's just been dropped by BMG.....sorry......'left by mutual consent'

However, seeing her on 'Celebrity You Are What You Eat', I really liked her and I thought she had a great attitude (never warmed to her on Pop Idol) - but I never liked her nasal whining unfortunately - so I'm not sure if she will get a new deal or not.
