The Loft - why is it still locked?

I gather from the feeds that the loft was locked on Wednesday(?) and is still locked today. Craig's theory was that BB didn't want groups of people splitting off to bitch up there and is forcing them to mingle.

However, I can't see why BB would want to lock it for that reason, because it does make good TV...

So why do you think BB have had it locked for so long? Are we and the HMs in for a surprise?

I think BB might be worried about all the fighting, and that is why they want the groups to mingle. Constant fighting isn't going to make good TV either.

I think Craig is right. I hope that is the reason, anyway. I'd rather they mingled than bitched in groups. We've had enough of that to last us 11 weeks! Obviously, we don't want them to stop for good, but I'd like a bit of a break.

I reckon a special surprise is waiting for them in there...

I didn't realise it was still locked, and I am very curious as to why.

But I disagree that constant fighting doesn't make good TV. The threads which appeared on here, and the number of people who stayed up when it all started kicking off the other day, suggests otherwise.

If they were all terribly polite and nice to each other all the time, it would be Deadly Dull tv....

I think it was so there would be no escape from each other upon the announcement of the nomination results, not sure why its still locked though. Maybe something to do with a twist?

I also heard Makosi mention that it might be closed if one of the cameras wasn't working - maybe that could be it? Especially as there aren't any mirrors in there, they rely entirely on the cameras.

Hopefully they'll have turned it into some sort of 'themed' room

Perhaps BB lost the key? Or as it's a bit more hi-tech than that, perhaps they lost the button?

The weapons of mass destruction are up there...

I wouldn't want that either - but a mix would be good. Fighting constantly is as boring to me as constant serious conversations, or constant bitching. BB should be about a mix of things, not just one thing constantly.

Is the window covered up?

isn't there a ginormous window in the loft? can't they look in and see? or is there a blind?

I'd rather they didn't re open the loft, I like it that they have nowhere to hide and actually have to interact as a whole group rather than a clique.

Makosi and Craig tended to treat it as their throne room while holding court with their followers.

it was obvious that the loft was fast becoming "a house within a house" and was therefore limiting the amount of time that players (that's what they should call housemates) were having to spend with each other.

rather than stopping conflict, i think this is designed to increase them.

just to be contreversial, i have the feeling that we have a surprise in store, wouldn't it be cool if we found out if one of the housemates was a twin or something lol, such as in BB Australia.

Goodness! Am I the only one who's knows?
There are 24 gnomes in the BB house. Gnomes being gnomes have very secret lives. When all are tucked up in bed, the gnomes come out to play, drink and be merry! But, being a secret society, they cant be seen by man and what with all the cameras, they need a place to chill and have wild parties - in secret! The reason you dont see them moving at night is that they go slowly so they cant be detected and BB focuses on the sleeping housemates - its part of the gnomes contracts I'm sure!
Hope this insight helps as I'm pretty sure thats what happens. Maybe a housemate will catch them up to their antics one day.....?

Well firstly on bblb Dermot has let a few things slip that big brother has a few tricks up his sleeves! Maybe he is keeping the housemates curious! does any of the housemates know about the naughty step yet?

Speaking of gnomes, Davina did say something about the gnomes shouldn't be touched. I wonder if it coincides with someone touching one of them???
