Is that a similar kind of attitude to that expressed by many forum members concerning Lesley?

Long story... Suffice to say that I am now a long way from that and have NOOOO desire to go back there!!!

Davina loves him. He will win. He is the male version of Mary but he seems to get away with it.

I can't bear Derek because he's smug, patronising and manipulative.
The fact that he was an admirer of Maggie is merely another reason to dislike him.
There must be something very strange about anyone who had Maggie posters on their wall as a teenager.

I hate the fact that he seems to see himself as some sort of superior being, above all the other housemates and the viewers.
It's so insulting.

Derek is the housemate that my opinion veers wildly about. One minute I love his humour and his ability to see the absurdity in his situation, behaving like a black Noel Coward. The next I want to punch the TV because he is so supercilious and condescending.
I think over time his patronising voice will really start to grate on my nerves.
At the moment, I find it quite funny but as the number of housemates gets smaller that voice droning on patronisingly, butting into everyone's conversations and holding court constantly will really start to bug the a*se off me!

But - emmeline - that's exactly WHY I think he's a great housemate. I would HATE to meet him in real life. I was very anti-Thatcher. I am anti-bloodsports.

But Derek - like Mary - are great BB contestants for us to watch!!

Even Makosi - who I increasingly dislike - is good TV. Let's keep these awful characters in to give us some sport over the coming weeks!

Apologies.

I should have referred to maybe!

No it isn't. Lesley wasn't targeted because she was working class it was because of the false impression she had of herself and her contempt for people in the house that she hadn't bothered getting to know before attacking them.

Do you think the most obnoxious HM should win or you vote for the nicest of the obnoxious one's left on the last day?

I just vote for the worst personality to leave and don't bother about "tactical" voting.

So why bring it up in a thread about a BB housemate?

I'd hardly say he was impenetrable!

*I* didn't. I quoted and replied to a post that spoke about Thatcher's successes.

Well said, great post. Awful people but fantastic TV.

I reckon the HM with least to offer me - the viewer - has to go. So I could dislike someone intensely but still keep them in. I sort of like their obnoxiousness if you see what I mean!!

You're right in that she was attacked for what you say but she does also get criticised for the general impression people have of what she wants to do on a night out. Thinking back ... I wish I was able to act like I did in my teens ... and my 20s ... and my 30s!

I do but do you take it all the way and vote for them to win? Or when do you switch?

What's stopping you now!?

Did you watch Ladettes to Ladies last night? Toffee nosed ignorant girls from priviliged backgrounds who were just as repulsive in their behaviour on a night out as any working class girl.

When I think there's a danger of someone I don't want to win becoming a likely winner!!! So I suppose if Derek really became hot favourite, it would be good sport for a while, but then I'd have to have him OUT!!

When?? Dunno but probably I won't have to change my tictacs for a month or two yet!

My wife!

Didn't see it but I've always enjoyed packed city centre pubs and as long as things don't get violent I like the anything goes attitude.

LOL, good point but I yearn for a BB housemate I actually like.
Is it too much to ask?
