Now now, that's not nice - I wasn't mad keen on her myself, but I do feel a bit sorry for her now. She hasn't got the confidence she pretends to have, & now looks like she's been "touching cloth" for the last 10 minutes 
. She knows people will boo her out - on the way in is bad enough, but on the way out it's much harder to deal with. Some people may go as far as giving her a hard time in the street whenever she goes out, which would be a shame.
Looks like Science & Saskia could be right - if I listen carefully, I can just make out a voice saying "Mary, the new Lidl's opening on 5 November - can you deal?"
