The only other thing he said that it would be interesting to see either Sam or Saskia leave and how it would effect the group dynamic.
He has not discussed nominations anymore than most hms in the past, infact Craig is more guilty if you consider how he has targetted people with his bitching, that to my mind is more likely to influence nominations than anything that Derek has said.”
Well said, dome - finally, someone has got it. He could have made exactly the same point about any of the more extrovert HMs like Mary, Makosi, Kamal, Max & Roberto, & it would have been valid - the group dynamic
would be affected by any of them leaving, & in some cases for the better. He voted for Sam & Saskia, but if his words had influenced people's nominations Sam & Saskia probably wouldn't have left, so he wouldn't have gained anything. Rather than be miserable to see them staying, he nearly burst a blood vessel with joy (love the line about being so excited he could sleep with a woman

)
after the nominations which ended up being two people he hadn't nominated at all.
I suspect that, rather than trying to influence the nominations, by telling Craig about possible effects on group dynamics he was rather cleverly telling Craig they wouldn't be affected if Craig went! The worst he did was set a trap for Craig. If he counted on Craig not being savvy enough to interpret his words correctly, it's easy to see how Craig then would do the very thing he shouldn't have, i.e. talk about nominations to everyone who would listen. Like a lamb to the slaughter...
