OFFICIAL! - Vanessa is playing tactically!
baddreams
04-06-2005
Have you been wondering why Vanessa is the quietest housemate in the history of Big Brother?
Have you been questioning why she never engages in conversation with anyone but Lesley and Craig?
Seen her just say occasional words, giggle, but never speak.
There is a reason!

A friend of mine has passed onto me a copy of 'The Croydon Advertiser' 3/6/2005 which is the weekly paper for the London Borough of Croydon- Vanessa's hometown.

There is an interview with her best friend Natalie Walkes.

'Her close friend insists she is not as boring as the public may think - and that it is all part of her masterplan to scoop the winner's prize...

So far she has managed to avoid getting involved in the squabbling and this week school friend Natalie Walkes says keeping her head down is all part of Vanessa's gameplan....

"We havent seen much of her yet and I dont think shes really being herself. Its part of her plan to stay quiet and let other people get chucked out".'

PERSONALLY I THINK...
BB should get the housemates to nominate for who they think is the calmest/ least argumentative person in the house.

then for BB to offer them a chance to swap that person for a NEW housemate and a party.
Surely the housemates would accept!

If your concern is that Vanessa is not being herself, how would encouraging her to be more argumentative solve that problem?

And of course none of the other HMs are in it to win or stay as long as possible, they are merely the puppsts to entertain you. WHAT IS IT TODAY, people picking on least favourite HMs and making stupid and rather obvious accusations against them.

Do these FMs think we are all going to screech 'of course' and march on Borehamwood and demand their opinions are acted upon.

As for the OPs suggestion well I supose they thought it a good idea.

She actually talks to other housemates too. You just don't see it, I have noticed a lot of her conversations yesterday were with her 2 mates, but the odd one with others!

Not argumentative, just conversational.
I have e4, i watch the live streaming - A LOT!

People try speaking to her (not craig and lesley) and she gives one word answers only. She smiles, she giggles. but she never ask other housemates a question or opens up a conversation. its THIS non desire to speak that is unnatural.

it could be said that she is quieter than other housemates. but im not asking for her to wash herself in the bin... just to speak!

She does sometimes.... a lot actually. Kemal and her speak in bed a lot for some reason.

Obviously I wouldn't want any kind of system to *force* anyone to talk anymore than they have to, but I do agree that she does need to come out of herself more. I think she's really sweet, and have seen little glimpses of what might be a really nice personality, and I think she is doing herself no favours with being such a wallflower- intentional or not.

I'm not the quietist person in the world, and I think I would have trouble in that house, what with all the loud people in there ALL trying to dominate any convos that are going.

Still, I think she seems nice, and I hope she opens up soon: I'd like her to stay in.

And I do wish she'd stop HIDING BEHIND those sunglasses - she seems to have beautiful eyes and I'd like to see more of them.

I think she is a BB fan who has watched the show constantly and she is playing on the fact that dull people tend to last long in BB. People like Cameron, Shell, Stuart and Nush weren't particularly interesting but, they lasted really long.

Her swimsuit the other night was very 'tactical' At least it made me want to get 'tactile' with her...

Well, it is the quality of what people say, not the quantity. Sadly, Vanessa appears to be lacking both at the moment, yet she is still my "favourite" through default as she seems quite pleasant. I hope she becomes slightly more "entertaining" soon. It appears she is ignoring the "advice" given to her by Marco, as she is nowhere near as irritating and is likely to go far further than him.

Your spot on.
Even her friend has said this!
But the sad thing is, with the current voting system, any interesting / controversial housemate will loose to her.
So her tactic, and and voting against, will keep her in for the next 5 weeks at least.

On the official BB website Vanessa says she thinks she may get nominated for being too loud. So is she being herself according to her own analysis of her character?

i think in the real world she probobly is pretty loud but it is going to take her a little longer in the house before she feels she can comftable enough to be herself. when she is in a larger group she sits with her arms crossed looking like she wants to get into the conversation but cant think of anything she thinks is intresting to add to it. it could be tactical but im not too sure. she seems worse on the highlights show cause the times she dose talk, when she is with craig or leslie its not shown. the editors didnt seem to be making an effort to show us any signs of personality. i do find someone about her her likeable not sure what, but id really love to see her come out of her shell soon.

Thing is gameplan may well work well but still don't see much indicators of this personality, you have to be genius to suppress a personality that well.

Believe me what you see is what you get Vanessa is giving zero. This tatic looks good on paper but the public will remember her low contribution in the long run.

she might stay in a while but her tactics won't win BB. You have to project some personality in order to get people to like you enough to vote for you to win. I don't think she'll get any favours from Endemol as regards to editing either..... she's anonymous in there so there's no footage to show. Remember Gos? It took them 6 weeks to remember that he was in the house.....

I really don't see how Cameron was boring, he may not of had a drink much but I remember many funny moments from Cameron. Peoples dislike of Cameron goes beyond reason.

Vanessa

"Has it started yet? Hello Big Brother! I'm Vanessa! The cookie monster! I am err a gossiper. The girl sat next to me was so dry. She just got on my nerves. I'm a bitch. If she doesn't like the way I am, she can **** off. I'm two faced. You're outfit is so fetch, where did you buy that skirt, it's great on you. I don't think so, no. It's the ****ing ugliest skirt I've ever seen in my life. Erm, loud. Shallow. If you're good lookin, and you've got a big cock, and a nice body, then it's fine with me, thats all you need. Materialistic. Should have made pink labels because they would go better with my outfit. Theres another one aswell, some people call me thick. Bothered. Who cares. <Whistle> No! Is that it? Have I been rejected

not so mouthy in the house is she?

She has become more animated over the last couple of days. She doesn't seem to hang around Lesley and Derek as much and mixes with the others more. I'm warming to Vanessa now.

Yeah, I saw that audition tape Neck_Romancer, it is far different from the real deal isn't it.

I'm sure BB producer's couldn't have just based her personality on that tape could they?

Does anyone know what process they have to go through to get into the house.

i do remeber helen bb2, being incredibley quiet in the first week, she never really seemed to talk to anyone either. she didnt start to come out of her shell well untill the second week. thats probobly why im giving her the benefit of the doubt at the moment. i think there is still a good housemate waiting to come out.

I know they have to have a 'psychological' interview to make sure they are stable.

Not sure how thorough it is though, given that Science got through, as did Craig, neither of which I would call stable.
Mary too of course, but she's gone.

My friend, its got nothing to do with the editing. Watch the live streaming and you will see that Vanessa honestly hasn't got any personality!
