Nokie 6230 Questions

04-06-2005
Hi all, My aunt just took out a contract and recieved her new nokia 6630 yesterday, however it has gone wrong already, and we have come to the conclusion that it is a waste of space, and so is going back.
Looking into the 6230, she just has a couple of questions to ask about it.

How long a video can it record?

She puts a lot of videos on it in 3gp or MP4 using a data cable, How long can these videos be (they need to be up to 5 mins per video each)

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
David

You can take videos for aslong as you want depending on the amount of free memory you have.

Same goes for videos you want to put on the phone, it depends how big they are and how much memory you have.
On my (now old) 6230, i had a couple of episodes of The Simpsons and a few video clips as well.

Thats all i needed to know.
She's read that and seems happy with it, so now it seems like just making a final decision to replace the 6630.
Thanks

With the Nokia 6230 the maximum recording time is only 4 minutes. But Viewing files in 3gp format is dependent on the size of your memory card.

Spenno had said 4 mins max recording time, have you ever taken a video longer than this to backup that its longer, or is it 4 mins?
Thanks

I own a nokia 6230 and think the nokia 6630 is a better phone, why do you say it is a waste of space?

Also if she got a new contract the phone is probably free i'd get the nokia 6230i instead of the 6230

The 6630 is under a day old and has frozen and crashed for 20 minutes today. Not impressed so far, and the size is a let down, though nothing major.
So whats the difference between the 6230 and the 6230i then?

No i haven't, but whenever i have taken clips the maximum length always changed depending what memory have have left, and im pretty sure i have seen over 10mins recording time in the past.
Plus i have read on other forums that video recording can be aslong as you want if you have the free memory for it.

Yep thats right you can set the limit to unrestricted so it then depends on the size of your memory card

Maximum recording time on nokia 6230 is 4 minutes, there isn't an option to save the video straight onto the memory card.

This is the only way i know which would make it possible to record for longer
