Jaycee Dove kindly posted some of RTD's interview with the Manchester Evening News about plans for the next series on the June 4 thread. Thought I'd pop a link to the online interview in here for anyone who's missed that. Obviously there is a chance of some spoilers, so caveat viewer

I think in the next series I'd like to see less of the soap opera Dr Whollyoaks stuff and a bit more action. Like to see it work the dark side of the doc up a bit more, keep the humour, give the doc a kick-ass assisstant, oh and cybermen, lots and lots of cybermen....

![]() Seriously though, I know I keep saying it, but Rose has been wonderful, and when she does leave, will be a very tough act to follow (as will CE himself). |

going back through the years i have liked most of the doctors , my favourites were Jon Pertwee , Tom Baker , Sylvester Mcoy ...the only one i didnt really like was Colin Baker , just irritated me a bit . Therefore we should give DT a chance before the knives come out .

Current series has been excellent, great credit for which to CE & BP. Having seen CE in many other things I was expecting much of the same but his comic talents have been exemplary. Billie too has quashed any preconceptions.
Never seen DT in anything and hopefully won't so as not to predjudice my viewing of the next series. As for the previous throught he medium of video and memory I can recall lots about their predecessors and found all had identifiable quirks about them which were unique and watchable (Except for Paul McCann). The role seemed to always make the actor rather than the other way around so if this continues to be the case there should be no need to fear a drop in standards. As for next series I would like to see updated pieces from the previous history being brought in, particularly with some former one off adverseries (Zygons for example) but with emphasis of regenerating their impact into the current feel of things. More non Earth stories would be good too. Not sure about Cap'n Jack but will reserve judgment. If Billie does go then Jennifer Ellison would be my pick as a replacement- failing that then how about the glorious Jackie Tyler |

Jennifer Ellison isn't as bad as a lot of people on here are making out - I remember seeing her on Hells Kitchen the first time round (she won) and she came over as a very intelligent likeable girl, definitely not just a bimbo.
I'm not saying that she is my main choice to replace BP and its prob all just tabloid rumour but I don't think she would be anywhere near as awful as most of you lot seem to think. |
