I've been looking at that one. Might be a toss-up between that and the 1100.. would both just accept my old Virgin SIM or would they need some sort of unlocking?

I just bought a Siemens A65 for £9.99 from the Virgin website, Free P+P as well. Never had any phone but Nokia before, But I like this one very much

Goodness - how did this one spring back to life? It's Christmas, not Easter

Thanks everyone for the comments - I got the Nokia 1100 in the end (well, it was bought for me). Does what it says on the tin and is relatively straightforward and basic - just what I wanted.

Nokia 1100

I brought 5 of them the other day for £19.99. The battery life is incredible and it's not bad looking. Basic, cheap and tough. What more could you want from a phone?

It also has a built-in torch, 2 highly addictive games and some jazzed-up, old-fashioned ringtones.

must admit though... i wouldn't let myself be seen with a "basic" phone now, not when i got the Samsung E350 and its not even a month old yet (it will be on Monday)

I've just got a Siemens A65 as a PAYG upgrade from Virgin for £9.99 with a £10 airtime voucher included, so it's effectively free.

It's not as easy to use as my old Nokia 3310 but it works well and looks quite pretty.
