I was looking more on the side that they were saving Derek rather than sam

I really should of tried to see Dereks handshakes on 1st night looking back

I don't think they've changed the rules to save Sam alone... I think they haveprobably realised we're pissed off with a lot of the housemates so they are hoping to appease us viewers by giving us some power back and letting us boot out Lesley.

Lets face it sam will be up every week so i think i am voting for Lesley as this might be my only chance not many people nomanate her were as sam is bound to up next week.

Who knows. Could be Derek they saved. In a two vote the anti-Black, anti-gay anti-Tory, anti- hunting, anti-derek vote and the pro-maxwell, saskia, anthony, sam vote might win?

If they wanted romance/sex they would have put better male HM and straight ones in for her. Saskia-Maxwell will provide some romance so what is sam for unless she morphs into Kate or Anna.

its all very odd because if they don't get rid of the Maxwell/Sam/Anthony/Saskia block vote they are going to see all the stranger HM going first as the public will vote out anyone stranger or non-white if they are nominated. That risks leaving 4 people who wouldn't normally survive half a BB series.

Absolutely. Big Brother will do whatever it wants and make any excuse. But it's cool! It's entertaining.

Look, BB have never done anything like this in previous series when someone has told someone who they are nominating.

They like Sam, she would have been out this week if she was up against Derek or Roberto. Now that she is up against everyone, she has a much better chance of staying.

They have changed the rules twice to help - not save - her.

True orginal poster, but who cares I have decided Lesley out Sam is about to unravel before our eyes win, win situation.

"Indiscretion"?!?

It was much worse than that!

Why is Sam unraveling a win?

Do you enjoy watching her suffer or something?

Sorry, but I don't get it.

Hasnt in previous years the person discussing noms been excluded from nominating but can still be nominated? Cant it be done again?

Overall I agree with the OP. But that is the pessimistic cynic in me.

It was interesting that BB didn't call Vanessa in until the nominations had been made. It suggests to me that they wanted to wait and see who was up and, if it didn't suit BB, to then do something that did suit their purposes.

Better that than having someone from the other bloc win.

Has UK BB ever had somone who schemed, bitched, and lied to such an extent win before? I can't think of any.

Sam wasn't saved by a rule change last week!

The next in line after the immune most-votes ones was, I think, Vanessa.

So if anyone was saved, it was her.

i think they were looking at the bigger picture and
anticipated problems for their favourite housemate
saskia would have been up for eviction next week
and it would be too obvious to put them all up then

It does feel a tad tokenistic, doesn't it? Plenty of housemates discussed nominations, albeit not as stupidly explicitly as Vanessa did. One feels BB has ulterior motives all right.

It's a con folks.

Again.”

Firstly, it can only be a con if we were given a set of phone numbers to ring, we rung them, voted off Sam but they evicted Lesley.

I dont know how many times people have to be told but Big Brother are in charge and they make the rules which can, as they say so many times, be changed when they feel like it.

Secondly, it has emerged that Derek was telling people to vote Sam & Saskia - They ended up with 10 or 11 votes between them - why is it ok for Derek to rule break but not big brother?

You cant have it both ways....

I think it is convenient, but BB needs to step the game up, here are my thoughts:

1. Sam was chosen as a HM out of thousands of applicants, there must be a reason why, maybe BB are banking on Lesley going and giving Sam a chance to shine.

2. BB was beaten by CLI in the ratings last night, BB are panicking as Friday is also CLI's vote night, they needed a twist to bring in the viewers.

3. The promise in the pre BB adverts "What happens, you decide" seems to have been forgotten, this week we truly are deciding.

4. BB has a script and a favourite HM and they will bend the rules which ever way they want to make sure this HM wins.

Four theories - which one is right, you decide!!

I thought it would be Roberto - he is expendable (same row all the time) but Derek would be vulnerable in a two way vote. Looks convenient. If they wanted to find a reason Vanessa wasn't the only one they could have used - just the best timing

I don't quite understand your point - she is up for eviction this week so how can they have saved her. They didn't change the rules last week so she shouldn't have been up then.

If one person should not be up for eviction this week it is Sam - the only one not to have broken the rules. If anyone is being victimised by BB - it is her.

I think I may have read somewhere that voting figures (ie revenue) was down this year.

I've already declared my intention never to vote again in RTV programmes but felt strangely tempted to pick up the phone tonight.

My question is this.Do you think Endemol have made all HMs potential evictees this week to boost media interest and revenue or do you believe that everything was going so well that Endemol had no need to introduce this tactic?

I've never believed the 'chosen one' garbage so cannnot believe that there was concern about losing either Sam or Derek.I do think that Endemol have been quick to realise that no-one in this group has much potential and felt the need to do something fairly drastic to generate interest.

I'll be interested to read your views.

its all about the mon£y

when have they ever put the whole lot up for one person discussing noms?
Veri

I don't think they have a chosen one -- why would they put all their eggs in one basket? -- but that doesn't mean they can't have preferences about who stays and goes.

no i think it's endemol's way of keeping both viewers/voters and contestants guessing.

of course they haven't done this before. they try to come up with new twists every year.

i bet there's some major twists to come yet.

so get ready for things you never thought you'd see on big brother.

and what do you think will happen the next time housemates discuss nominations?

it won't be all up for the public vote that's for sure.

the warnings system didn't work, so they are making new punishments, and i like them.
