Is BB's plan this year to create reaction to story lines as opposed to people?

I was just thinking that this year lots of people have said that they don't really like anyone in the house, they are just reacting to whatever happens on the screen. For example I don't particularly like Sam, but feel annoyed at the way she is being treated by Lesely and the playground bullies, that it makes me want to vote Lesley out as opposed to Sam. The same can be said for other HMs, e.g, one miinute they will annoy me and I want to evict them, and the next minute I actually quite like what they have to say for themselves (Science and Kemal being two examples of this). So as the weeks go on, we find ourselves on shifting sands with who we support, and its more a matter of luck as to who comes up for nominations, and what they do that particular week to make us vote them out. Last year that only happened with Victor, the rest were all fairly predictable.

In previous BBs it has been fairly predictable who will win from an early stage, in that people have liked a character, and the most "likeable" whether that be in terms of funny, sympathetic, etc, has won the show. This year it is thus far very difficult to predict as none of the characters seem to be invoking that short of reaction from people. So it becomes more of a "game show" than an election based on the HMs personalities. There are no well rounded characters in there.

Does anyone agree with that, or do we think that BB is not that clever?

I know I have found it hard to stick with the one person to give my support to so far. Just as you think you really like or loathe someone they go and do something to change your mind.

Maybe it's a little harder for BB to embark on a storyline for these people because most are so unpredictable although I think it's now that we are beginning to see a lot more predictability from certain HM's as they have now began to settle into thier environment.

Usually it takes around 10 days for people to really get to know each other this in turn helps the viewer to get to know them. The problem is I don't feel I have been able to settle for one person because there has been a lot of bickering and bitching early on.

Is that BB's intention do you think? They don't want the viewer to settle on certain people, as then its less exciting, and more predictable, thus leading to less votes. By doing it this way, its less predictable and more people are likely to vote.

You have made some very good points.

BB just likes to mess around with our minds..as well as the HM's. I don't even think they have a plan..a basic one yes with tasks, etc, but I think they change their minds week by week depending on public reaction on boards like this, and the relationships between the HM's.

I actually do think they want it to be unpredictable this year due to the fact that it can get boring when you can predict the winner so early on. I honestly feel that this is totally intentional and revenue related.

When a housemate breaks the nominations rule, they usually get a formal warning and exemption from next week's nominations...don't they? I think you could be right. I instantly thought last night, oh, here they go again, imposing their own authority over the show too much, as usual!
