Derek Dolittle
Helga
08-06-2005
Derek presents as a cheap workingmen’s club novelty act – a white guy blacked up pretending to be a posh Tory puff.

He is not particularly intelligent. He just uses language structures that are quasi-clever. On first impression he can get away with it, but after a short while he repeats and even uses the same facial expressions and hand movements with same lines in different circumstances.

His game play (overt cheating, haranguing, bullying, physical violence and humiliating) is the work of stupid thug, not the fruits of an artful intelligence.

He makes mistakes in matters of protocol, etiquette and manners and would be laughed at as a buffoon in polite society. He is the ‘Eliza Dolittle’ of our day who appears to be trapped in the gruesome experiment.

There are others in the house that are bullying, fake and deluded but when Derek says he would make a ‘good African dictator’, it rings true. I am sure this guy could easily kill and starve thousands for his own gain or amusement without the slightest pang of conscience. He is a real sicko.

I disagree on the intelligence bit. That's unproven. He's clearly got a fair bit upstairs and he's logical and rational.

But the African dictator comment does ring true. He totally lacks compassion.
