An inflatable splint is a temporary emergency measure that is used whilst an injured person is being transported to hospital. It should only be fitted by trained persons.

Inflatable splints are NOT meant as a permanent cast to support a broken limb and should not be used in conjunction with crutches.

If a splint is inflated above systolic blood pressure for a prolonged period it is highly likely deep vein thrombosis will occur and this, even when the subject is in good general health, can lead to a pulmonary embolism and death.

Sam was set-up to fail. She was in pain and even had the sense to know the splint had been inflated to too high a pressure and she was in danger of suffering deep vein thrombosis.

She took the thing off despite the bile and malice and ignorance of the others pressuring her to suffer. Well done Sam!

How low are the Endemol scum – they actually risked killing Sam!!!

She was in pain? And they still called it a fail?

I don't know enough to comment on whether she was in danger or not, but even if not this was unacceptable.

Poor Sam, I was watching the live coverage at the time and the splint was causing her serious discomfort for some time. The highlights made it look like she'd just taken it off as soon as she'd got in the garden.

i said the same yesterday, i even said BB must have told her to take it off every now and then

i had to have a splint like that and the nurses had to deflate it every so often

I hate all of them which is why i can spot the hysterical nature of Sams support so easily. Literally anything is used to support her position as the daughter of some kind of deity.

Makosi at least tried to drink the cod liver oil - she can't help if it was so vile she choked it back up. Sam just didn't want to wear the splint because it looked unattractive.

OMG how dare Endemol give them something which might choke them. Lord, they were trying to kill Makosi. And lets not forget when they made Craig hide behind the twig in the Diary Room - the splinters he could have sustained could have had serious consequences.

Get an inflatable splint. Put it on your bare leg. Pump it up to a very high pressure. Keep it on for hours even after you have been in pain and your leg has gone numb.

Take it off and wait till a blood clot hits your heart and blocks a valve then post again just before you snuff it.
