BB6: what needs to be done to save the series?

I can't say it's been entirely boring, but clearly things aren't working. What do you think should be done to sort it out?

IMHO, they should just give them plenty of food. The lack of it - or their inability to budget properly, which isn't surprising considering the age of most of them - has led to some of the most hideously boring moments ever seen in BB history. I can't see that it's worth keeping them short, because it just means they talk about little else, have less energy and thus just doss about, and alternatively bicker and fantasize over grub. It's doing me bleedin nut in!

They should have removed Lesleh without the need for formal eviction after her behaviour. It's cast a shadow over everything. Also, Lesleh in a hospital gown and neck brace is possibly the least attractive sight I have seen on TV this year.

Fun group tasks are desperately needed. The hospital thing fell flat and has just led to even more food-related yak. IMHO, we need some It's A Knockout-style silliness to get them all laughing and having fun together.

What do youse lot think could be done to perk up BB6?

They need more tasks and things to do. I think there has been far too much bitching this series and I think this stems from not having enough tasks. It would also give them a chance to work with other housemates instead of their regular groups.

Also more alcohol is needed. Not excessive amounts, but the amount they are getting at the moment is ridiculous

Finally like you say Lesley's antics really makes for uncomfortable viewing. I want to enjoy what I am watching. Hopefully things will improve after she leaves tomorrow

they definately need to stay sharp with nomination discussion rules because it looks like there are a few big schemers in there who will carry on as far as i can see untill their are made an example of

I don't think it needs saving.

It's been thoroughly enjoyable so far, equally as compelling as other series. They've picked a great bunch that've got us all debating like mad.

so you were quick to judge when you made a thread on day 2 saying something like "where are the normal people?"

Yeah! I agree, it took a while, and I was uncertain at first, but I'm now engrossed and it's one of my favourite series!

More and better tasks but first get the poison out of the house (TB). If Lesley goes and Craig or Derek walks then put in a bright new housemate who's aware of all the house politics and will subdue all the scheming whilst the fun returns to the house.

A bit of romance and/or sex wouldn't go amiss too.

A few 24-hour tasks would be good. Imagine Lesley and Sam on a nightshift of a task.

Maybe it's just coz I've been watching so many hours of the live stream that it seems boring.

They've tried that every year and it always seems to fall a bit flat. IMHO, it might work if they were to send an interesting celeb in there, such as John Lydon.

Ah, then you won't have seen Roberto's endless (like, hours long!) rambles about food, the budget and the shopping list. Lucky you

Decent tasks, that involve brains and thought, not sitting around wearing
stupid clothes!

I am sure in previous BB's they had really challenging tasks.
Mind you.. this lot would find anything that invloves brains challenging!

I dislike all of the housemates and think they are dreadful. This means I constantly talk about it, and dont like to miss anything. Therefore for me, it is the best one since BB3

Leslah and Craig should but put in a bedsit and then forgotten.

I think random nominations should be shown on the plasma screen (not too many, maybe 1 or 2 per week, and the person nominating should not be told until they are out of the diary room), to expose some of the scheming that's going on in there.

And they should give them some tasks that expose them a bit more psychologically, and stop people like Anthony, Derek and Saskia slipping through to the last 3 under the radar, without showing much of their true personalities.

I think it's the best one since BB3, too.

"What needs to be done to save the series?" makes it sound like it is dying. It is not. We are two weeks in, and already we've had a lot of classic moments.

... I wonder whether people feel 'spoiled' by BB5, and all the things that were going on at the start then? Still, I think this one is better than BB5. We're getting character development, which is great. The eviction nights are running much more smoothly, and it's been very compelling.

It nestles perfectly between the boring BB4 and the way-too-over-the-top BB5. It does not pander to extremes, or at least, not to the extent that BB5 did. The bitching is excessive, but getting rid of one of the biggest bitches in there (Lesley, please God!) will do a lot to remedy that problem.

"It clearly isn't working"? Give it a break. We get that every year.
