Totally agree. I don't like Sam but the way Derek behaved and spoke to her was vile. Really liked him up until this week as well, can't wait to see the back of him now.

Derek is a pure bastard. Anyone that thought he was funny tonight is just as bad as him.

In what way did she sabotage the meal? Have I missed something here? Are you saying that she made a meal for everyone and deliberately made it awful?

Could you expand a bit? I didn't quite catch the run-up to the Derek / Sam shock horror situation, just saw him really really angry with her, which was a bit of a surprise.

thanks

Basically she deliberately made it too salty. Now even if you are a bad cook you know when you've put too much salt in something. It was almost inedible. When Roberto tried to give her some advice to tone it down she pretended she liked it and it was nice.

That was the clincher for me. If she'd accepted his advice no one would have been suspicious. By saying she thought it was nice confirms her guilt for me.

This is how Sam operates. She does things to annoy people the cameras can't pick up. If people complain, they look like the bad ones.

what we have here is a classic case of the bullied becoming the bully. I mean he goes by the nickname 'golly' ffs
a name given to him by his "friends" at bording school. Lots of weak, unattractive, inferior men, when given a little bit of power over somebody, will soon turn spitefull, vindictive and just plain nasty.
Believe it. Stalin did. It was how he recruited his secret police.

And I can't stand Derek.”

It's strange how people see the same thing in different ways. My impression of it was - Sam looked happy to be cooking. Roberto said it tasted "slightly salty". Sam didn't seem too concerned at his criticism. Roberto and Derek were crowding her while she was trying to cook, and that's when she said (laughing) OK, you can go now.

It's the kind of thing I would say - meaning give me a bit of space to get on with this - no nastiness intended. That she was being lighthearted about it was obvious by the shock on her face when Derek had a go at her.

I heard that his nickname at boarding school was Coco-Nutz. <allegedly>

I thought the incident was funny. Sam was that devastated that she is now having a cosy chat with Derek and Roberto

Totally agree, that was my impression too, also perhaps she was a bit embarrassed.

I think most of them just have got used to Derek's little tantrums, he has about one a day but they don't really mean nothing.

Dereks humour is classic! He manages to wrong foot people because they don't know if he's joking or not but keeps a straight face throughout. I bizarrely like him and don't know why!

Thanks for this. But do you really think that Sam is that devious? It seems extraordinary to go against all your basic instincts to integrate, be accepted etc. and to deliberately sabotage the one thing that everyone needs - food.
I;m finding it hard to believe that. There must be something else behind it.

Fair enough Plant. I can see where your coming from in regard to Roberto giving her advice to tone it down as it was too salty. I don't understand why she didn't take it. I'm confused as I thought I heard her asking him to taste it.

However, I still don't get Derek sticking his oar in and being really viscious to her when she asked him in a lighthearted way for him to leave.

Because he was hungry, knew she was deliberately f*cking up the meal, and her being annoyingly dismissive and giggly about it was the last straw.

I honestly don't think I've ever read twaddle like this in my life. You put Mr Blonde to shame with that one
