He was very intimidating towards Sam but weirdly she didn't seem THAT bothered by it which I thought was really strange. She was sort of blank, not offended - more incredulous.

I thought a bit stunned! Incredulous being a good word for it I think. What he said was so uncalled for and inappropriate I think it got the response it was owed.
