In view of the fact that it's the biggie - the first part of the finale, and also because some people seem to be getting a bit upset that we're posting speculation for tomorrow's episode in last week's thread, I decided to start tomorrow's thread a tad early to allow some pre-airing speculation.

Please remember to use spoiler tags where appropriate - and when people use them, please take note or it's your own fault if you read something you didn't want to.

It seems completely reasonable to satrt the thread then
(I'm sure it'll be no more than half a dozen posts till someone complains....)
But hey, it's going to be a great episode I'm sure...rather funny I think...I jst hope there is a lot more serious stuff than the trailer last week seemed to show....serious and dark episodes seem to work best.

Wow, thrid post...I was right in there being less than 6 posts....now that the complaioning is out of the way, lets go on and talk about the episode...

...I wonder how Captain Jack will be threatend in this episode? The Doctor is obviously threatend with 'eviction/frazzelisation', Rose with the 'walk of shame/frazzelisation'....so what lies in store for Captain Jack?

Is Davina actually in it? I haven't seen her listed anywhere as being in it.

Its going to be great. I'll be setting the video for it, as my sister is getting married and I will be otherwise engaged! But its also kind of sad now that Chris Eccleston is leaving.
Captain Jack is treated to a make over from Trinny and Susannah (or however you spell it).

The doctor will be in the big bro house and so I believe you shall at least hear Davina's voice

Dreading it!

It's an RTD for starters! And I can't bear Big Brother, or Davina McCall, Anne Robinson or Trinny and Thingy - they're the very worst of TV, so it's gonna grate from the off.

However, the spoilers made it sound not that bad, if perhaps a little simplistic.

Yes but it might be nothing like the shows in real life they have revamped them!.
Personally if they done the zapper thingy on BB in this day it would be more enjoyable viewing!.

blimey is it new thread time already? still not sure about bad wolf, wasnt blown away by the trailer, but i have faith in RTD to deliver..

i shall be watching the ep as the bbc intended tomorrow evening, the first time i have watched the show when broadcast, having previously had to watch a recording later on..

i love knowing that the whole season is coming to a climax, i love the speculation about what will and will not happen, and i love feeling like i did when i was a kid when saturday evening comes around.. goodness knows how im gonna make it through to the christmas special...

talking of which, would it be unwise to start the christmas special thread now? (only joking )

I think you might be missing the point - satires on these shows haven't been included to pick up the audiences for the originals, they've been included because to some "they're the very worst of TV". The very idea that these three shows are what remains of 21st Century British TV in the distant future is nightmarish enough for some people as a starting point!

As for dreading it because it's an RTD for starters, you'll have read my previous posts so I guess we'll have to continue to agree to differ

in all seriousness, i have no problem with rtd's episodes as i think he has tried to tell the series arc story through them all, and i think that will show through at the end of the season, i think the reason people have a problem with his writing is that if anything he tries to fit too much in to his episodes, but whilst i didnt personally like boomtown i have complete faith that he will deliver a rousing finale to the series

Spoiler
The robot Trinny and Tranny aren't looking to make over Jack's clothes exactly, try thinking more along the lines of "A Brand New You"

i think the episode length debate is difficult because everyone will have a different view, certainly i think 45 minutes works better than it did when it was trailled for a season when colin baker was the doc, i think the writing holds up much better now than it did then, and i dont know whether 25-30 minutes would get enough story told these days.. i just think that the story-telling could be slightly less convoluted at times, a great example of this would be the writing in the early seasons of buffy which got a heck of a lot done in 42 minutes without leaving too many loose ends.. in terms of the story being told, i think The Empty Child did the best job, although i also think a lot got done with wonderfully little effort in The Long Game, which i would (controversially) put in my top 3 for this series...
