I posted this in the 4th June thread, but it seemed to get lost

Using spoiler tags, because it's better to be safe than sorry. This isn't a spoiler, however, but how how I think things will pan out:

Spoiler
That's just sparked off a thought in my mind! (a quote by neardark, saying how they liked the idea od redemption)

Perhaps Boomtown was encapsulating the series (or the story arc) as a whole, into 1 episode (bear with me! )

We all have suspicions that the Doctor has done something terrible, and in his attempt to run away from it has only made things worse (time war).

Boomtown showed this perfectly - the Slitheen had done something terrible - she teleported herself out of No.10, but left her family. The Doctor, we suspect, fled the time war, and left the rest of the Time Lords to perish.

Throughout the series, the Doctor has also been reckless - blowing things up and letting people die, just so he was OK. This is what the Slitheen planned to do - destroy the Earth so she could be with the rest of her family. However, she was stopped and was given the chance of redemption - another crack at life.

Perhaps this is what will happen in the final two episodes - the Doctor will have a chance to get out of the mess he's in, but it will have grave consequences for a huge number of people. He decides not to take the opportunity, and is rewarded with another shot at this life: instead of regenerating into the 10th doctor, things go back (like the Slitheen into its egg) to the point where Paul McGann regenerates into David Tennant.

And the Bad Wolf - well, that is the Doctor. He is destructive for his own personal gain, but is given the chance to redeem himself.

(Usual speel - hope this makes sense; 3 in the morning etc. )

If this turns out to be true, I will be seriously shocked

And if this has been posted before, then sorry - the (4th June) thread's just too long to read!!

hmm good speculation there!. I for one don't even want to guess what happens. But I do like what people are writing. I just know for a fact that I will miss CE tremendously (if spelling is off do not laugh)lol

Not a spoiler as such, but more of a question/comment about tomorrows' episode; I've put it in spoiler tags just in case.

Spoiler
In the trailer for tomorows' episode there's a women connected with wires and talking about how her Masters' fear the Doctor, to which he replies (que northern accent): "eh up, icky thump, oo'd thay be then, by gum?!!" (No offence meant - honestly )

Does anyone else think:

i think bad wolf will be a milestone in the season.. a lot of us will be going "oh yeah.. how come i didnt spot that?" after the parting of the ways, and we will all be looking forward to christmas even more than normal

as far as next years easter special thread.. hopefully DS will relent and dedicate a sci-fi forum, so we can all have a happy home at last and discuss to our hearts content!

no problem sammie, one of the things that makes me keep coming back to these threads is that the vast majority of people are tollerant to the views of others.. people dont always have to agree with each other, but we should always make an effort to understand another person's viewpoint. thats why i personally love series like dw because ultimately it does promote understanding and harmony, and the people on these boards understand that

sorry to take up space on this thread! but actually i think it is still on topic!

As for dreading it because it's an RTD for starters, you'll have read my previous posts so I guess we'll have to continue to agree to differ ”

I agree with an earlier point, John, about these shows being chosen because they are intrinsically 'cruel' - For straightforward 'worst of tv' satire you wouldn't have to go much further than Bruce Forsythe's back catalogue (though the Regeneration Game would have been good ).
A robot with a whirling rug, repeating the same tired old catchphrase over and over again would be too much like the real thing for comfort.

And I think RTD has done wonders in this series. The fan-hated AOL/WWIII is a case in point - Having read many disturbing reports on what might have actually happened on '911', I honestly think this is about as close as TV can come to questioning the 'official story' - but maybe I'm reading far too much into a kid's show?

actually i think i might try and squeeze in the whole series before tomorrow night just so it is fresh, you never know i might pick on something which has been missed as well.. rtd knows damn well this series is being made for the dvd generation, so there must be stuff in there which might otherwise go unnoticed.. i take it as my humble duty to investigate further

sammie, use the same as when you quote, only with the word "spoiler" instead

ie [spoiler] and close it with a / inside the second bracket.. actually its hard to do that without actually doing a spoiler!

will pm u the format if u like

You can either highlight the comments you want spoilers round and press the spoiler button (The grey S) or type [ then spoiler then ] at the beginning of the comment then [ / spoiler ] at the end of the comment - like this:

Spoiler
Ta Daaa!

Hope that makes sense!
