I would be very surprised if the Face of Boe doesn't put in an appearance, even if it is just on one of the Bad Wolf TV stations.

Perhaps as many have suggested, including myself, that the last two episodes are about The Doctor's past/actions catching up with him and he ends up seeking redemption.

Does antone els think the big wooden doors in this ep, 'An Unearthly Child' look like the doors the Doc picked open to get into that club in 'The Empty Child'?

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but I'm still wading my way through this thread!

Did anyone ever get to the bottom of the highly convincing but short-lived episode guide web page on Bad Wolf containing the picture of
Spoiler
a grumpy looking Adam
and the words about
Spoiler
Rose finding the one man she trusted was not who she thought he was?
Just wondered if it was proved a hoax or whether it was pulled when it was rumbled early?

Never got to bottom of this-think it was fan hypothesis, no more.
I think
Spoiler
Adam will not be in this episode, in any guise

and
Spoiler
Rose will get a shock about the Doctor, but what he did will not be intentional
but I also think
Spoiler
The biggest twist in the ep will be a shock for the Doctor

I am still running with my theory that it was all part of
Spoiler
a game from the first ep. that The Doctor and co have been taking part in a Trueman Show type of series and he has been made to think that he destroyed Gallifrey and the Daleks back in the Time War, if indeed it ever happened.

I am fully prepared to have my theory go up in flames by as I am fairly confident that there is a major plot twist to come by the end of ep 13.

Was a damned convincing looking hoax...well, that is it fooled me anyway...all I'm hoping for is a rollicking good story that makes sense, gallops along and throws up things to surprise us and make us think...if that happens, then I won't even care if Bad Wolf turns out to be a socially rebellious mutt that's been sent to it's kennel for the last 11 weeks

I think
Spoiler
we saw the mistake the Doctor made - the series hasn't all been a gameshow

agree with you about the twist tonight though!

And talking of tonight...I think that in order to maintain order and decorum on this thread we should hold a text ballot to see the order in which people are allowed to post once the credits have rolled thus ensuring civility and a lack of over-excitement doesn't encroach

Spoiler
I think someone very close to the Doctor might die.

If that is the case then the most likely casualty will be
Spoiler
Captain Jack

I just hope the BBC tonight don't employ that ITV continuity announcer who on Thursday gave away the cliffhanger ending to 'The Bill' by revealing in the intro exactly what would happen in the last 30 seconds.

Not content with programme schedule suicide ITV announcers now seem to be doing their best to deter anyone from watching as well.

We would not want the same thing tonight...I mean 'And now Doctor Who in which Rose marries Captain Jack. has a baby girl, they name it Wolfie, she is promptly tardis sick all over the Doctor causing him to be summoned by the reapers to account for smacking the child on the bottom with the words. 'Bad, Wolfie'

T'wasn't quite that bad on ITV but not far off...

Would it?
Spoiler
Do you think the Doctor really cares about Jack?

There are rumours that
Spoiler
Rose gets killed on The Weakest Link
but that would make it difficult
Spoiler
for her to return for season two. Captain Jack is more dispensible as a character as it is unclear whether he is coming back for the next series or not.

Not if
Spoiler
The Doctor sacrificed his life to save Rose

from an interview from the guy who plays jack..

Spoiler
he said he would like to come back for season 2 so unlikely he will get killed off

its more likely

Spoiler
the doc will sacrifice himself

ive been wondering what the series would of been like if the BBC were denied the use of the daleks! how different for good or worse would it have been?

It's not really much of
Spoiler
a sacrifice though since he knows he's going to come back as someone else, memory intact and free to carry on
interfering in the affairs of others to his hearts' content

It would have just been different...the back catalogue of favourite monsters for DW is so extensive that we probably wouldn't have noticed much difference...unless someone had crossed over into alternate timeline, come back and told us how good "Dalek" was then we would've all got temporally miffed and demanded the opening of a rift so we could all check for ourselves

Good question! I wonder if we would've been inflicted with more eps featuring the Slitheen. RTD did say they developed another new enemy but refused to discuss it in case they use it in the future.

Think the season would have been successful without the Daleks myself as the majority of the stories have been good and have still caught the imagination of the audience.
